Hey folks! My name is Paul and I'm currently on my new awesome DS system. I'm not too big on forums but I am big on supporting companies I like and feel that they did right by me.. so!.. onto my review! I recieved the box from fedex in a timely fashion, even though they were a bit slow to update their tracking info, and wow! No shaking, perfectly packed, neat, precise, nothing squashed or out of place. My tech level I'd say is medium to low but the geek in me ofcourse had to take this bad boy apart and the inside, ofcourse, is superb. Amazingly setup, cables all snaked away or located near the top, right under the top intake fan. My card is a 280 and I noticed the bugger is heavy! So heavy in fact, the corner is supported by a plastic tie. I ran to read the boards and reviews and discovered that most people find the card to be heavy and sometimes it even sags a little so I felt 'that' much better that the guys at DS took care of this little oversight. Down to my windows cd-key sticker being on the side of my tower.. I was impressed, impressed, impressed and I felt I had to write a review to convince new buyers to buy from this company! I looked at the comp 'trying' to find a flaw.. looking for one! None so far! The setup looks like this:
case: digital storm 850si (coolermaster)
PS: 1000w corsair
cpu: q9650 3.0mhz 1333fsb
mobo: 790i ultra
hardrive 1 and 2: 300gb WD 10k rpm in raid 0
hardrive 3: 500gb WD 7k rpm
video card: gtx 280
cooling: stage 3 wind tunnel (highly recommend if not doing water cooling! highly!)
lighting: (had to mention this cause I was impressed that there were 'two' tubes and not one, plus the location of them were superb)
warranty:5 years (the reason I went with ods aside from what I found in my research)
I'll check back to see if anyone has any question and I'll also be giving updates down the road. Such an impressive machine AND company that as of this day, I stand behind them for my computer needs.. and they will be the first place I look when it comes time for a new machine!

Sounds great. Hope it gives you no problems. Now go break it in with some games.
Also in before DST4ME asking for pics. I also wouldn't be surprised if someone comments on your RAID config. However, I'm indifferent to it all. I got a WDVeloci in my system and it's a beast. Love the hard drive. |

My desk is 20.5" and the computer tower I want is 21"
but then again the Antec 900 will do fine so oh well. Hope you enjoy your new PC, Post some pics up whenever you get a chance so you can show off your shiny new rig P.S: You should break in your GTX 280 with some Far Cry 2. That badboy will have no trouble taking you through the african savannah. |
