Just ordered new rig yesterday (see below).

Original order thread here.

I am currently running 2 Dell 24" 19x12 monitors.

Does anyone run 3 monitors with 2 670s?  I'm thinking of adding a 2560x1600 in the middle.

From my original post:

"I am currently running 2 IPS  monitors at 1900x1200 (why have they basically stopped making these???) although I may move up to one 2560x1600 (and maybe one or both 19x12’s on the sides) (or the 2560x1600 with 2 1600x1200 [which I already have] in portrait on the sides, a configuration I read about on here about 6 months ago but can’t find the post; DST4Me commented on it as pretty cool at the time IIRC) (dream config 2x2560x1600)"

Thanks,
707

I run three Dell U2412M monitors in portrait mode (3600 X 1920) on three GTX 570 2.5GB cards.

What's your question?

Sounds like a sweet set up.  that is the kind of "unconventional" approach to problem solving (more real estate vert and horizontal) I can appreciate

I was more concerned with 1. running 3 monitors off of 2 670s: any special issues or just connect 2 to on 670 and 1 to the other (and would it make any difference if one was a 2560x1600) and just mess around with the settings?  and 2. what if I only want to use one monitor for max res gaming while using the multi monitor set up for gaming?

i think that 2 670's would not nearly be enough for 3 monitors at those resolutions if you expect good fps but this is imo

I mis-typed the last part and actually meant;
what if I wanted to use one monitor for max-res/fps gaming, and multi-monitor setup for normal/non-gaming use?  Would that change anything?
