hey guys,
my new DS rig will be here next week and im looking for a monitor. i have 19 inch now. my new rig has 2 275 cards in sli. im thinking of 24 inch but have a question. If i get 24 inch and game that i play does not use sli. am i still going to be able to max the settings for that game with 24 inch and just one 275 card. in other words do you guys know of problems like that i will run into with this setup with 24 inch monitor. or should i just go with 22, which im hearng is not what i need for sli. thanks for you help

Depends on the games, on some games you may have to turn down the setttings if they don't support sli, but for majoratiy of games you should be fine.

go with a 24 inch, look for a monitor that has the same Viewing Angle, both vertical and horizontal, and above 170°

My Extreme 1 just hit stage 6 in a update email a few minutes ago and im in the same boat for a monitor. I need to go economy and looked at the recommended monitors in the other thread discussion. Im still on the fence about a couple of them, but im leaning towards this to get a 24" for now, and then upgrade maybe next year to a 30" when funding looks better.I found this on newegg and read reviews from several sites on it. Its not bad for middle of the road economy.

that looks like a good monitor, never used NEC before.

if something doesnt run in SLI, and you have to use just 1 card, just remember, you will be running that program with the fastest single card out right now, so no matter what you will have performance greater than or equal to everyone else

I have been researching for a couple days now and that NEC ASLCD24WMCX is hot in the running even if its not the best. I have a NEC MultiSync FE2111 CRT monitor that has served me well over the past 5 years. Not to hijack travi24 monitor thread but I just went stage 7! These guys are workin hard on a Saturday and im impressed! That also means im pushin harder for a monitor now to fit my set up, that will probably ship Monday if all goes well. Thanks for all input! Back to research!

if you play games you might want a monitor with a higher vertical refresh rate
like 85-100khz
youll get less chance of tearing at high fps

I always recommend Samsung for anything tv/monitor related. Usually priced fairly and generally very high quality.

DELL has good monitors as well.

Well..I have narrowed it down and think this is a good deal.Its $175 more than the NEC and a H-IPS panel versus the TN type.Better vertical refresh rate too.... And its on the recomended list.Anybody have one?  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824176104

The HP is kinda random on quality depending on where it's built. I recommend looking here for info on monitors:

DOH!Cry
I guess I'm taking a chance with the HP.  I bought it at New Egg and the reviews were good.  Oh well, If I have problems I hope New Egg return policy is decent.
