Get the 470, throw the 250's in the trash.
What is your budget and res? Why buy a nice gaming computer without the stable OC, their warrantied too so you dont have to worry you know. |

Yeah, the OC is a definite. You haven't given us a budget, but if you have more to spare, i'd get a nice intel 40 or 80GB SDD for OS/apps. Get the 470.
Actually, nevermind about the SDD.. if you had more to spare you would have gone with the 470 or 480 outright. When it comes to gaming, the video card is way prioritized over an SDD. Though they are nice. Edited by Ch3ssplay3r - 29 Jul 2010 at 11:25pm |

Many thanks for the reply's.
My budget is around $2000. Screen res is 1920x1080. I'm looking now at going with the GTX 480. If I go with OC, which air cooling up grade should I choose? Is the 750 watt PS ok? _popupControl(); |

You prefer the EVGA board over the ASUS?

Definitely, for reasons outlined here. I wouldn't use Marvell's SATA III ports if you paid me to and USB 3.0 isn't worth +$86. Not that USB 3.0 is useful to many people anyway, but you can get an add on USB 3.0 card for very cheap to use with any motherboard. |

My last two systems had Asus MB's and I never had any problems with them. That's why I never considered anything else. I can see you reasoning. I will go with EVGA. My build (426746) is just about like your build (426681), except I will have an SSD. I just have to mull it over for a few more hours before I order. Thank again for your reply. |

there is a lot of air moving over the RAM with an air cooler, the mem fan really won't help, but with water cooling there is no air moving around the mobo, so it is a good idea then

Dragoon's build is pretty much perfect. Very similar to mine, without a few additions that i needed.
What PSU does DS use anyway? I've always wondered that. I know the RAM they use is mushkin or corsair or other good stuff, but i don't know about the power supply. |

DS Certified RAM in the past has been pretested Mushkin, Kingston, and Super Talent.
Alex from the Digital Storm team says good things about DS's brand of PSUs (TechNPS), in that they are manufactured by the same companies that make PSUs for all the top PSU brands. |
