Budget:
3000-3300 Expectations: While having only one monitor at the moment, I plan on upgrading my setup over time with multiple monitors, so I think I definitely want SLI I suspect. Usage: 3 screens worth of face book 24/7. Maybe some gaming pwnage included in the mix. Special Needs: The last time I went for a boutique built computer like this, it was a major disaster. I could never get it working properly even with the help of a decent technical support staff, and it was just too big for me to ship back to them. So I've had a giant, jet black paperweight and had to struggle to slake my gaming thirst on cheap Asus laptops from Best-buy. But with a recent birthday, I've decided to spoil myself with some savings I've scrounged together and Digital Storm's commitment to customer satisfaction has sealed the deal. Of course, the fact that they are located right across the Bay from me in Fremont doesn't hurt either. Well almost any computer in the last decade could run 3 windows of facebook, not sure that's a big consideration.
Get the i5 processor at least, especially if you want to blow that much on graphics cards. It's better and runs cooler, and the 6 over 4 cores will do you no good from what it sounds like. If you want the look of that frostchill system, cool, otherwise you get more than enough cooling for an i5 at 4.2 Ghz with a corsair A70 or H70. It seems like windows 7, especially with modern RAM, doesn't need to be tweaked. Easiest to just let it do its thing. |
