Hello DS Fam,
I'm in the process of getting my first DS machine. Check out: digitalstormonline.com/configurator.asp?id=1042453 and let me know what you think. Any advice is welcome! I was almost ready to get the Vanquish II (lvl) 3 so that I could do some upgrades myself and maybe save some money on the over all build. My biggest concern are: motherboard, only having one PCIe 3.0 x16 (being used) max 16 gig ram (limited to 1600 only two 6g sata hard drive inputs window 8.1 cant over clock the i5-4590 stock CPU fan ;-( I was thinking I could get the lvl 3, leave 8.1 installed on the HDD and buy a SDD and install windows 7, partition the HDD to leave 8.1 with a 300 gig of room to boot to if needed later on and normally boot win 7 form a 250 gig SDD and use the second partition of the HDD as bulk storage and maybe save some money while still ending up with a pretty solid gaming rig. But, im pretty sure im just going to go with the Marauder build I posted a link to above. Also I read in another post on the forum that there is a Labor Day Sale where you get free shipping. Please let me know if anyone has a promo code or a link to the Labor Day Sale Page. Peace and Love -Stagger Lee Edited by Stagger Lee - 01 Sep 2014 at 10:12pm |

Heyho and welcome to the forums. I believe, as I pointed out on the other thread, the Labor Day Sale was 2013.
As far as upgrading the Vanquish II lvl 3, I'm sure there will be someone along who can help you with that. Remember, the Vanquish line is prebuilt, so there is no configuration change in assembly at DS. This is to keep the line as competitively priced as possible. (And a damn fine machine, if I may be so bold!) |

Um, Stagger, you need to update your browser, bud. The Marauder is no longer offered.

Good morning, Snaike. Actually, the Marauder case selection is still there. Just not a highlighted system.
That build looks good. Does give you a lot more upgrade options over Vanquish. Good luck. |

thanks for the info everyone!
glad I looked things over again before I ordered, I had accidently selected 4670k instead of the 4690k... $19 seems well worth the faster chip especially since im going to OC anyways |

Yeah, its only 100Mhz faster but the Haswell refresh, 4690k, does have better thermal interface material below the chip's lid for cooler running, especially overclocked.
