Hello all,
I'm new to the forum so I thought I start by putting up the specs of the system I just ordered. For once, I had the opportunity (read money) to buy whatever I wanted so I went for the gusto for the most part.

Good Lord thats going to be one hell of a system. I assume you will be doing all the overclocking yourself since you dont have any of those options?
Some people might recommend you do a duel loop watercooling, apparently it provides A LOT better cooling power which should give you even more overclocking room.
Curious about the 2 burners....i know sometimes people use two of them, so if you do then i guess its not a huge deal.
The rest looks freaking amazing.

When people publish proposed system buys, it would also be a good idea to specify the intended applications. Otherwise, it is very difficult to make an intelligent recommendation unless the goal is no more than to have the most expensive system possible regardless whether there is any practical benefit to it.

Ive been informed that i keep spelling dual wrong and replacing it with duel sorry about the mistake.... I hate the letter A. Plus...duel sounds more beefy and manly. So therefore i will keep using Duel until the language eventually changes to my way or people just think im stupid. Whichever comes first.

I'm buying this computer to surf the internet. Will it be sufficient? (j/k) The two primary uses that will benefit from this systems' power would be;
FPS Gaming and some work in photoshop.
Addtionally, I expect this system will last a significant amount of time before I need to build a new system.
I will be doing some overclocking, but I don't expect to take it to the bleeding edges of OC.
The two burners is more a matter of habit. I also have a particular CD I like to leave in one of the drives pretty much all the time. The extra burner wasn't much extra money in the grand scheme of things.
I didn't buy this system solely based on getting the bare minimum system that would serve my purpose; I bought it because I could afford it and I wanted it to be more than enough to serve my purpose and be able to handle software to come.
If it's overkill, good. :)

Personally, I would drop to 1600MHz RAM and use the money saved to run dual loop cooling. Strictly personal preference. I believe the increased cooling capacity will translate into a greater performance increase (and longevity) than the increase in RAM speed. Aside from that, I like the build.

I thought only CPU cooling was available with the Quad 9800X2?

This may be correct Rolet. I hadn't considered that water block placement on a 9800x2 may be impossible.
That is an excellent point. Maybe someone from DSO will post and enlighten us. *Tyler looks around for Duke* |

I got an answer from Duke on the phone and they have changed my configuration to CPU cooling only. They did not notice that I had selected CPU and Vid Card water-cooling in my configuration with the GX2s. Well that saved me a little money. |

You might want to put some of that cash back in towards a case fan upgrade. I don't know if they offered this or not when you changed your order, but most that heat is going to be dumped back inside of your case. You may want better than stock fans to deal with that.
