I am looking at build   #884746.
I am looking at using the Sabertooth MoBo instead of the Expert.  I do not forsee myself ever needing thunderbolt.
Usage is gaming and general computer use.  I will only be running 1 monitor for the near future.
My question is there an issue with that MoBo swap?
Is the onboard optical audio acceptable for 5.1 surround in small office.?

Welcome to DS MotoB!!

Looks like a solid build to me!! For a few extra $$ you might consider upgrading your lighting to the Hydrolux Multi-Color LEDs. Not only will you get the option to change the color to whatever you want but you can also take advantage of the Hydrolux's capability to change color depending on temp.

The Sabertooth is an excellent mobo and carries a longer warranty. The onboard audio should be fine (majority of users have no issues and you can always add one at a later time if you ever feel the need to do so). The 780 should give you long lasting gaming goodness as well!!

If you don't need lots of hard drives, I would suggest you consider the Gryphon. It is a bit less expensive. Also, a less powerful power supply, like the EVGA 750W SuperNOVA would work just fine as long as you aren't planing on adding a second graphics card.

Not sure about future upgrades but have always preferred to have the option.  2D surround would be cool.  Thanks for the feedback.  Think I will add the Hydrolux Multi-LED.  Could be a cool option and still keeps me in budget.
I have been thinking of adding a second 1T HDD for backup.  I have no idea how to set that up and would look for a program to do this. 
If I were to do 0RAID if I understand then I only get to use 500G.  Correct? Plus it is not a true failsafe backup.
Would an external with a program be better?
Ready to order this badboy Monday so any more info would be great.

RAID0 is striping meaning it reads/writes to both drives simultaneously - used for speed. If you have x2 1TB drives, you'll have a total of 2TB of storage but if one drive fails you lose everything.

RAID1 is mirroring meaning what you write to one drive also gets written to the second drive as a duplicate - used for backup. If you have x2 1TB drives, you'll have a total of 1TB of storage and if one drive fails, you still have a duplicate copy on the second drive.

There are other types out there that offer both (RAID5 or RAID6) as well hybrid setups (RAID10 & RAID0+1). These types of setups require 3-4+ drives to implement.

RAID

As with any form of data with any importance, backups are a must. A separate backup drive (internal or external) should always be used to protect your important information. Drives will fail and there's nobody to blame for lost data other than yourself.

Thanks for the clarification.  Think I will add a second 1T HDDfor RAID1. 
Final question.  I heard on Nov 7 that the GTX780 will be lower on price due to the 780Ti intro.  Should I wait till the 8th for a lower price on the 780?

Hi MotoB...  If you mean waiting for the DS to drop the price, and going sli with your build, then it might not happen.  DS might take awhile to drop any prices, depending on their inventory, etc.  Tough to say what they'll do.   From past experience, it does take some time.

Was just looking over your config when I noticed there is another GTX 780 listed for $162 less (perhaps from the recent price drop?).

You might also want to consider moving to Win8 (upgrade to Win8.1) as its DirectX 11.1 & 11.2 only. BF4 and future games will probably take more advantage of it.
