I had a few questions about configuring a computer. Hoping someone can help out.
Was wondering if anyone who has the HAF 932 or 922 could comment on the noise level? It looks like all those fans keep the computer cool but I'm concerned about the noise level.
For video cards, is it faster to get 1 GeForce GTX 275 (1792MB) OR to get two GTX 275 (896MB) running in SLI mode? Since the MBs are equivalent, I wasnt sure if there is any difference or if I would see noticeable difference because the two cards would share the load.
Lastly, i'm intrigued by Solid State Drives. I've read they dramatically improve start up times when you turn on the computer but at the same time they dont necessary benefit the in-game experience. Was wondering if anyone could comment on the benefits of SSD and whether or not its worth the extra $$.
Appreciate any comments. Thanks

It is MUCH faster go get two GTX 275 (896MB) in SLI. DST4ME will probably soon be in here with his graphs and will provide you with an excellent configuration to fix your needs...he's awesome like that :)

The key is to get the most overkill parts that you can afford.
![]() Yeah but you should really wait for DST4ME Do you have a ticket number, resolution and a budget? That really helps out. The 17962MB 275 is better for higher resolutions. SSD's are faster and don't break when you drop them but they are more expensive per GB. Edited by Roadkill331. - 26 Aug 2009 at 12:00am |

Actually from what I've read around the forums here for the past few weeks I've read that you wont see a performance gain in the 1762 vs the 896's wait for DST4ME to correct me though with charts...that'll be my luck

get the SLI. one 1792 will not be anywhere NEAR two 896's in SLI. In fact, one 1792 isn't really better than one 896.

My budget was $2000 and wanted a gaming/photoshop rig and I went with the Extreme 1 a week ago. I took the parts list to Newegg and I couldnt build this with parts, op system with upgrade to W7 , labor and a warranty to boot. Its schedule for delivery tomorrow morning and im like a kid at xmas tonight! Stick with your budget and ask questions. This is a great place for that and everyone is helpful.

Thanks for all the replies. DST4ME, the build looks great. A few things though. To get the price down a bit, any reason why i couldn't lose the sound card and drop the power supply to 750W?
