Welcome to the forum Bilkad !
You and your friend put a good system together. I get about $3128 as you configured the excellent Lumos build. Asus Strix Z390-H mobo is a fav of mine, and the I9-9900K CPU is very strong, and so is the RTX 2080 GPU. We do not usually advise you to overclock the GPU as is gets little gain for the added GPU stress. I have some tweaks to suggest for you to improve this build a bit more and still stay close on price. *Changing to the next best 8-core CPU, the i7-9700K gets you a little cash to use to improve other things here. Performance is right up there with the 9900K so you really lose nothing gaming performance wise. Overclocks a little cooler too. *The Samsung SSD you chose is a standard SATA III 6 gbps drive. Go with a Samsung M.2 NVME drive 1 that is 5 times faster because it uses the motherboards PCIE bus that video cards use. You actually have 2x M.2 NVME drive slots on the motherboard...an easy upgrade you can do later on yourself. *Switching to Corsair branded sealed liquid CPU cooler and Corsair RAM gets you better manufacturer warranties on those solid components. Both have RGB lighting like your selected Corsair LL Series fans that can all be color controlled using Corsair's iCUE software. Lumos build ( $3180) Config # 2433293 Excellent i7-9700K with free Stage 1 overclock Better Corsair 240mm sealed cooler - longer warranty Better 16 gb Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM - warranty 5 x faster 1 TB Samsung Evo 860 M.2 NVME SSD Drive 1 See what you and your friend think...or tinker and come up with your own new config... Right now, that config of HockeyBuck's comes in at $2880 with free shipping! There's a $300 discount if you configure a $3000 build. That build is everything you could want/need at an excellent price break. I'd get all over it if I were you.
Don't OC the GPU, and get the 9700K. The only thing I might change could be to the H115i Pro cooler. That's it. Take your savings and run! |
