It seems to me you are looking for a rig very much like the one corybo7 just posted yesterday in "New PC build" Have a look:
https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=4270196 This will do anything you want well within your budget. This close to a whole new world of GPUs by Fall, spending any more for for one as overpriced as these are is just not wise. The 3060 Ti is a spectacular card that kills at 1080p, and is very strong at 1440p. You will miss out on nothing while you get a chance to see the advances they build into the next round without having blown the budget. This is plenty of computing power to speed you through your editing jobs, and a super-gamer. I highly recommend it for you. Edited by Cretae - 20 Jan 2022 at 4:22am |

Welcome to the Digital Storm family!
I checked out your configuration and looked good as far as I am concerned. You will love the Samsung 980 PRO it is lightning fast!! There are real smart people on here that may be able to help you optimize your configuration based upon their experence. When I just recently upgraded I relied on the Forum's recommendations to help me get the system that fit my needs & budget. BY the way, the new speedy Intels had not been released until my new AMD system was enroute to my house. Mine is still a great system but I am amazed at Intel's performance. |

I went with the AMD for 2 reasons. The first is I'm impatient and DDR5 was on backorder and the second is I've never owned an AMD Rig before.

I definitely meant for you to feel free to put your own spin on it. It's a good build.
It's not recommended to overclock the CPU. It will turbo up to 4.9GHz on it's own whenever the demand is there, but there's no need to have it at that threshold all the time in gaming use. All that accomplishes without a heavy productivity workload to make use of it is to have your CPU running hotter than it needs to every time you boot up. If you really want to OC the video card, it will make that run hotter as well, which means the fans will spin up more often, but it's up to you. The "OS boost" is a waste of money. There's nothing to be had by letting someone else pick and choose your Windows services. It's throwback to very long ago when RAM was very expensive and came in teensy amounts. If you let DS trim a few thigs from Windows, it would free up a few MB of RAM. That's not a thing anymore. Edited by Cretae - 21 Jan 2022 at 3:46am |
