Hey everyone,

I'm new to this site and the company, as I've never heard of Digital Storm from my friends or PC magazines. I've been looking to buy a new gaming system for quite some time, yet I do not want to pay the price that popular PC builders charge like Dell and Alienware.

I've searched the web and countless sites for a custom PC builder, ranging from Tiger Direct to Cyber Power PC. All of them have the same negative reviews in regards to a few aspects:

1. Poor delivery time - Machines took MONTHS to deliver
2. DOA ( Dead on Arrival) - Many customers complained that systems arrived broken to begin with.
3. Poor customer/tech support - Customer reps failed to answer questions in a polite, helpful manner. Technicians failed to address the issue in a timely, efficient manner.
4. Life of the system - Systems broke down after a few months of usage.

Now, I am not saying this company functions with the above aspects as the norm. However, I could not find customer reviews for Digital System on websites like eOpinions.com.

I guess my questions are:

1. What are the normal delivery times for systems? From receipt of order to shipping (I'm hoping it's not over a month.. or even close to that)
2. Are refunds/returns processed in a timely manner with no hassle?
3. And most importantly... are your systems reliable and arrive at customers' door steps ready to go?

It would be great if I could hear feedback from actual customers who have bought systems from this company before, as I'm sure forum moderators and customer reps would sugarcoat the company a little. Wink
Anyway, I hoping to get some good feedback, as I am DYING to purchase a new system!

Thanks

Welcome to the family, let's see if any of our past customers reply here, we just opened this community today.

Have you looked at HardOCP's review? They take a real world approach by purchasing a machine and testing various areas of the company. Also, Kris Belau posted a review on his personal website as well, you could message him with any questions too.

Both of them are located in our reviews section in the forums (http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_topics.asp?FID=2)

Thanks for the quick replies! As a matter of fact, I found the section of the forums with the above reviews right after I posted. HardOCP's reviews have me pretty much convinced about Digital Storm, as they sure did put the entire company under strict testing! I will definitely consider Digital Storm as a possibility.

P.S. Just the mere fact that you guys reply is a good sign :)

yes hopefully there will be a large community here and best of all since Digital Storm is not as mainstream as Dell or HP they can contact you faster and they have this forum!

If you are looking for some reviews try resellerratings.com for some reviews on DigitalStorm.  It was one of the deciding factors in my choosing DigitalStorm to build my new rig.

Almost all computer companies seem to have the reviews below somewhere.

Look up digital storm online at resellerraitings.com. They have good raitings there.

I can say this much, I ordered my PC probably about 13 or so months ago and when I ordered it I had a personal rep I could call, request to talk to, and he would either be on the phone in a minute or call me back within that day to talk.  I ordered liquid cooling on my rig, and they had 0 of the 2 cooling blocks needed for my video cards.  With that, me being extremely picky, and changing a few things last minute, I had my PC in under 2 weeks and have since had every one of my friend's jealous of my BEAST.

I was one of the people who bought a pc from Cyber Power and it showed up at my door DOA...twice. I had to contact the BBB to get them to give me the full refund...that's when I noticed that the BBB had very few complaints from DS...almost none! So I bought my new system from DS. I just recently bought it so I haven't received yet. I have nothing positive to say about the cyber power guys except their web site home page is tantilizing with all the graphics to lure your in.

I almost went with Cyperpower PC because the prices were so amazing... but I remembered the old adage "You get what you pay for" and I'm glad I didn't go with CyberPower!
For those who are looking into Digital Storm I would recommend reading this review:
http://consumer.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTI1MCwsLGhjb25zdW1lcg==

H consumer reviews computers but they secretly order a system so the manufacture thinks its just a normal consumer (you really can't trust the reviews by big PC magazines because the machines are specially made for them so there's little mistakes). I used this site to judge whether I would go with Cyperpower or Digital Storm.
I'm so glad I went with Digital Storm. I've had my system since the 3rd of this month and its amazing. No problems at all so far and I can finally play C&C 3 with no lag!

PS: Thanks to Robert for building computer!

I want to get the facts straight.......most of the specialized computer building companies use about the same parts in their computers so they are all about the same, parts wise.  The area that sets the GREAT companies apart from the average to poor companies is Customer Service.  DS has employees who post and answer questions on the forums at all hours of the night and day.  Robert, in sales, has answered all of my questions by email as well as by phone usually within hours and at the longest 1 day.  I do not know if any of this means anything but I think that maybe DS is all about Customer Service.
