Why does the GT 8800 perform so much better than the new Radeon cards in games like Crysis and World in Conflict?

ATI has always had poor drivers compared to Nvidia and some games just favor Nvidia over ATI.

It's silly to say that the 8800GT performs so much better than the 3870 when you look at the prices and all the benchmarks... They're about even...

I was actually only asking why in Crysis and World in Conflict the GT 8800 got playable framerates and the Radeon did not in the gamespot test.

I did not mean to say that in general about the cards.

Sorry I wasn't clear.

Check the link I gave.

I've already mentioned that ATI.AMD still has a lot of work to do with their drivers.

And that both games, Crysis and World in Conflict, favors Nvidia over ATI.

Crysis is published by EA Games. EA and Nvidia has a partnership together.

World in Conflict is part of Nvidia's "The way it's meant to be played." program

Yeah, but it's probably still the drivers. I'll bet over time the numbers converge quite a lot.
