Topic: New Windows Version Posted: 23 Jun 2019 at 7:15am |
Quick question for the crowd. I just got the notification that the new version of windows 10 (1903) is now available for my computer. I have been reading online that updating is going pretty well. And I know the importance of keeping the computer up to date with windows updates. I just got this thing fully set up a month ago and I do not want to bork it up.
Any experience here with the update? Should I bug DS support about doing this? I did a windows version update back with 8.1 that clobbered a laptop so I am gun shy on doing this. KK |

Excluding work computers I mostly use my DS Bolt and a non-DS laptop. I've put 1903 on the laptop and have had no issues with it. I haven't put it on my desktop yet mostly because of laziness. However considering that I've had no issues with it on the laptop, I'll probably upgrade my desktop before too long.

You probably need to contact Microsoft Windows Support and get help to resolve your particular issue. You actually will find them very helpful...I have gotten support from them this year and they were excellent.

1903 had bad rep on release because of certain install bugs. But it optimized AMD processor performance, and patches security bugs of Intel processors with a more efficient way from the hyperthreading security problems. But there are a lot of benefits from 1903. One of the best improvements of win10 yet imo.

You need to contact microsoft support to know whether Windows 10 (1903) will bogg down your system or not.
Either it boggs down your system or not you'll have to update the system eventually. If you have a really persistent doubt, then by all means wait until there is another update that successfully builds on it's predecessor. And you'll be ready to go. Peace. |
