I am looking to get a good (well, better than good) gaming PC and stumbled upon DS website. I have read good things about DS, and then some scary things - as in problems with computers and then the computer owner has to do a bunch of things to get it working. I'm not dumb as a box of rocks, but I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed either.

Basically I am looking to buy a computer that will run the Microsoft Flight Simulator (Deluxe Edition) with no pausing, skipping, etc and so forth.  Of course I want to play other games, but the flight simulator is the MAIN reason.

I'm worn out with Dell's lame excuse for customer service, and I'm not too terribly impressed with their workmanship anymore, so I'm just now starting to look for another SOLID company.

What system (the necessary specs) here would be a good solid system for what I'm looking to do, and what price range am I looking at - I would like to try and stay under $3,000.

Sure would appreciate some advice and help with this... Thanks

Here's  a system that will get you started and comes in at around $2900.  It uses a 150 Gig raptor for your OS drive and two 500 Gig drives in a Raid-0 for data storage.  It includes over clocking the CPU and Stage 3 cooling.  It has a single 8800 GTX-756MB Graphics card which you can add a second card 8800 GTX later as a cheap upgrade in SLI.  It includes a case that can handle the extra heat that the overclock will generate and with the stage 3 cooling will get the max amount of fans included.  I included a Dual Boot XP Home & Vista Home Premium but you could change this to single boot and save $150.

850W PSU/Pro Case
Q6600-G0 2.7GHz
nVidia 680i A1 Revision
4GB 800MHz XMS2
1x500 GB WD, 2x500GB WD RAID-1
2x500GB Ext
nVidia GeForce 8800GTX 768MB
ATI TV Wonder 650
Air Cooled Stage 3

Im not a huge fan of Raid 0. Namely because of the slight chances of it breaking down. And when/if it does, its quite the pain to fix.

By going with DS you will get 1 on 1 service with folks that will treat you right and will not steer you wrong.  This great service starts when you work up your system build, and continues through deliver, set up help (if necessary) and while you own the system.  You get to talk to a real person and they are very sharp and truly want to ensure you are pleased with your system.

greenbeagle, you can't go wrong with DS.  I'm sold on DS, and love my DS system and when you get yours, you'll see what I was talking about.  Big%20smile

Thanks OlBull... I'm gettin' a gooooooooood feeling about DS.  I guess I can just call them and talk to them about the "best" system to buy which will play Microsoft Flight Sim Deluxe - for about 2500 bucks.... I want to include a good monitor also.....

Thanks you guys - you have been very helpful for this ol' weenie... I am always worried about spending that much money and then getting a raw deal....Ouch

But, it's looking like DS might be my new shopping store

Listen to bull... He may be as old as the dirt, but he is right on.

Just be warned.  Don't order this and expect it next week.  These are custom made and take time... lots of time.  Mine took over a month.  I was frustrated, but I am so happy with it now I praise DSO daily.

Good luck with your rig
