hi guys i was wondering if anyone had any experience purchasing open box items from newegg.  I've been looking for a monitor and came across some open box items selling really cheap. so the question is if anyone bought an open box item from newegg and ended up with a hunk of scrap metal or if they have a generally good record and don't sell items if they are sub par. If there is an article or something in this regard please give me a link. thanx in advance Ouch

Well I remember buying a TV on a budget and getting an open box from newegg and that worked like a charm!
Why do they blame me for all their little failings? They use my name as if I spent my entire day sitting on their shoulders, forcing them to commit acts they would otherwise find repulsive - Lucifer

open box items will work and come with all that they should, open box is just things people don't need and return.

yeah i know but out of a pile of open boxes some are returned for defects and dead pixels..etc. and some retailers are more than happy to slap a short return policy and make some money off of otherwise dumpster components
