Hello fellow gamers and editors,
I'm a gamer 1st and photographer 2nd. My old machine just went out. Had it for 4 yrs. (bought from cyberpowerpc worst mistake of my life). Long story short I had all kinds of complications. Customer Service was non existent.
Budget: I haven't one.
Expectations/Usage: I need a machine that is going to max games as of right now and in the near future. I play pretty much everything (mmo, rts, fps). However I also render photos and videos constantly when I'm not gaming. My file sizes and getting larger and larger and rendering batches of photos is starting to take quite a bit of time.
Special Needs: Sound doesn't bother me as I wear my headset pretty much every moment I sit in front of my computer. I keep my house at about 69 F, winter and summer and I do live in the midwest. I am using the Dell U3011 x 2. (just bought before computer died). I'm using a backup right now and looking to buy around xmas time. I'm using external HDD for most of my major projects. So I just need enough space to render and export to external HDD.
So hear is what I came up with...

I'm just tired of looking up review after review. This vs That. I'm just running into a lot of bias websites. I've read pretty much all the posts here and see that Alex and DST4ME are just looking out for the customers best interest. I'm interested in what you have to say. any feedback is good feedback. Thanks.

I can tell you right now that there is no way I'm letting you get that pc, lol.
but before I get into why, let me ask you something, so you got two u30 monitors correct? if yes then are you going to game on both (as in extended) or surf and etc on one while gaming on another. keep in mind with your room temps airflow is more then what you need, and that tec is only for cpu, the rest are under regular lc. are you ok with working with the lc system (flush and etc) so that if something goes wrong with the gpus, you can switch it yourself (otherwise you are looking at being without your pc for minimum of 3 weeks). please answer all of those and then I got some info for you to look over. |

I use the 2nd monitor for editing in my down time between matches and render while matches are going on. I also use it to surf stream irc etc etc.
I custom built an air duct to flow straight into the front of my pc. If airflow will be better in this situation than lc than great just let me know. If the lc gets outta control then I have a back up I can use while it's at the shop. |

I forgot to mention the computer will be used around 23hrs of the day. I render video while I'm sleeping.

I was actually just reading that. however in the meantime I need a cheap machine to play my games on now. I'll use my old 27 inch 1920 1080 monitor. I'm thinking about spending about 800 just to keep me afloat for right now. Just machine no extras. think you can put something together or is that just too cheap? I'm just looking to play some of the less graphic intensive games. League of Legends, SCII, WoW, etc etc.

I'm on an old hp laptop right now. not much I can do I don't think. maybe I'll just buy a mass produced machine for now. like dell xps or something of that nature. I'll be waiting for that cpu to come out and then we'll get to talking about this new machine. in the meantime I think I'll be getting another monitor for editing, probably a Cintiq 24HD display and a fill-in machine should keep me occupied .... hopefully?

alright I decided to keep my editing machine and my gaming rig separate between two separate machines. So I just purchased a Mac Pro for my editing and DST4ME I'm looking for a practical gaming machine now strictly for just that, gaming. Can you throw something together for me. Still going to use one of my dell monitors. Probably just one for the time being and upgrade to the 3 monitor display later down the road.

for gaming on your u30 you still need to wait for x79 so you can have the option to tri sli.

alright DST, I'm going to get a sit in comp in the meantime I'm getting calls at my house from my team wanting to know where I am. so that being said Ode 0 or Ode 1 ? Don't really feel like spending more money than that when it's going to be a hand-me-down to the girlfriend after I get my new machine.
