So why are there no deals and freebies for DS laptops? I was going to order mine in January so it would be ready when i got home but they don't even offer the free T-shirt and the free games.
Some of these latops cost just as much as a good desktop so what's the deal?

It's due to their agressive pricing. We made a decision to offer razor thin margins on them in order to provide the best pricing and value as possible.
There is a sale for our laptops, free memory upgrades. |

So no special packaging or certificate of ownership? Those should be done regardless of competitors prices.
As far as the shirt there is not even an option to pay the $10 for the Exclusive T-shirt. For the game you guys advertise as comes with the purchase of an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 600 series graphics card and get a digital download code for Assassin’s Creed III for FREE! It's really hard to believe it is due to their agressive pricing.

The packaging the laptop comes in is very protective. It's not the same ultra protective packaging the desktops come in but that's not needed with a laptop. Pound for pound the protective packaging is equivalent on the laptops compared to the desktops.
I do agree with your point about the certificate of ownership, wish I had one of those.
The games that come with the GTX 600 series is an nVidia deal across all builders and GTX 600 gpu resellers. nVidia does not include their laptop graphics cards in this deal. Same goes for AMD with their gamer bundle. Believe it or not, the laptops are priced very aggressively. Unlike desktop components, laptop parts are not as commercially available, so every boutique builder has to pay pretty much the same price for the components. And since Digital Storm offers an awesome warranty and stress tests every laptop, their profit margin is much smaller compared to other builders who don't stress test their laptops, don't test each component for quality, don't offer as good of a warranty, and don't have as good customer service. So yes, this is due to their aggressive pricing. |

There is, and always has been, a difference between a GTX xxx series, and a GTX xxxM series. All the laptop GPUs are the M series. The deals that apply to the standard desktop series have only ever applied to the M series when explicitly stated. I'm not just basing this on Digital Storm's policies, this is based on similar promotions from 5 different companies since 2001 (which is the earliest I can remember getting such a deal).
Here is the link you requested: http://www.geforce.com/landing-page/assassins-creed-3/terms-and-conditions Read the first paragraph. (Noting the lack of "M") Also, I would think you could request to purchase a shirt, I doubt DS would have to have their arm twisted too hard on that one. ![]() Edited by Tidgxor - 27 Nov 2012 at 6:27pm |

Thank you everyone for your help.
@baldy0326, You're right about the certificate, the reason why we don't provide one is because we're unable to provide the dedication to customizing and labor that we do to our desktops over to our laptops. Laptops are very easy to simply put together, all we do is add the CPU, memory, and storage and run our tests. Nevertheless, if you wish, we would be more than happy to send you a certificate, as we do value your business and would love for you to join our family of awesome customers!
Just email me your order details: [email protected] |

Thanks Alex. It is still about a month away from ordering but i would like to pay for the $10 T-shirt if thats possible. I also have a proposal for you later on when the time comes. I still have some questions about the laptop itself but i think that can wait until later before i order.
Since laptops are easy how long would take before it is shipped?

You're welcome. Sounds good!
Laptops can take usually 7 business days to even 14 depending on how busy we are, especially now since the holidays are here. |
