No video output

Hey guys I'm having a problem with my desktop. After transporting it halfway across the country it no longer gives me any video output after hooking it up. I have tried makig sure the video card was seated properly by taking it out and reseating it, which made no difference. I then tried the card in a friends computer and it worked just fine. Is it my motherboard that crapped the bed? If so what should I replace my EVGA x58 with since it was discontinued? Any insight or trouble shooting ideas are greatly appreciated!!

Hi greenandblue9771.   Sorry to hear.   I would also reseat all the connectors to the mobo, such as the 6/8 pin cpu cable and the 24 pin cable. 
 
If your x58 is a sli version, then plug the card into another Pciex16 slot and try it. 
 
Reseat all the ram sticks.
 
Your card works in another pc, but did you try your monitor cable or his?  
 
If you replace the mobo then I would go with the z87 Sabertooth if you want sli and longer  5 year warranty.  You'd also need another cpu, like the i5-4570k/4770k to fit.

I used both of his monitor cables, I didn't mention before I run dual monitors.

Still no luck unfortunately. Is there perhaps a motherboard I can transfer everything from my old one to the new one? At the moment I'm on a super tight budget and looking at my PC all torn apart and broken is depressing lol.

I hear the tight budget concern.

Your 920 chip is a lga 1366 pin count and todays boards are lga 1150 and 1155 to name two of them.     To move your 920 to a new board would mean hunting around like ebay for a mobo.     I think the Rampage 3 Extreme is 1366 but can be expensive if you find one.

You should call tech support Monday and see if they have any ideas.  Part of your purchase is life time tech support.

Also, call EVGA. They have great support and your mobo might be covered but not sure. Not sure how thry handle discontinued boards.

The Noctua D14 might still be useable , just a new mounting bracket.
