Based on your help in the last month, I'm about to take advantage of the DS Sale and purchase the following system:
 
HAF 922; i7 950 3.06GHz (Quad Core); ASUS Sabertooth X58 (Intel X58 Chipset) (Features USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb/s); 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series; 750W Digital Storm Certified; HD1 (OS) - 1x 40GB Intel Solid State (Model: X-25V Edition - Extreme Performance); Non Raid Option; HD2 (MM/Data) - 1x (1TB Hitachi/Seagate (7200 RPM) (32MB Cache); Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x); Optical Drive 2: Blu-Ray Player/DVD Player (Play Blu-Ray and Play DVDs); Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 1GB (Includes PhysX Technology); Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua NH-U12P SE Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler; Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans; Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz; Boost OS; Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition).
 
Question - is there any downside to boosting the OS (turning off non-essential features)? DS recommended this option when I asked if they disabled the indexing on the hard drives which an article (Oct CPU; Pg 31) recommended to minimize the writes to the SSD (thus extending it's life). Other recommendations (for SSD perfomance optimization) included setting the MB's SATA ports to use AHCI and creating partitions using an SSD-aware tool. I'm clearly not in my element here but just want to purchase/configure the PC/SSD to optimize performance and maximize longevity.
 
Any thoughts on OS Boost On/Off of any specific recommendations to DS on the build/configuring?

OS boots does nothing really to help apps/games and etc, and as far as I know, with todays ssds you are goot to go either way, but then again, I'm o ssd expert.

only downside to os boost is if you need a service that has been disabled, it can cause headaches.

I would go without it because they could disable something you might need in the future and plus windows 7 is really optimized. vista i could see needing this but 7 is a really great os. Plus the benefits probably wouldn't even be necessary with a kick ass rig ds offers
