My DS rig arrived yesterday!! Been setting it up since. In Win7 system basic info the CPU is shown as i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz 3.57GHz
When I received my Stage 7 update from DS:
Overclocked Processor Settings
Processor Speed GHz: 3.75 CPU Multiplier: 21 Voltage CPU VCore: 1.35 VDroop Control: Yes i7 - BCLK MHz: 179 i7 - Voltage QPI\DRAM: 1.6 i7 - Voltage QPI\PLL: i7 - Voltage CPU VTT: 150 i7 - Voltage IOH Vcore: i7 - Voltage ICH Vcore: i7 - Voltage IOH/ICH I/O: i7 - PWM Frequency: 780i/790i - Memory Clock Mode: 780i/790i - CPU FSB MHz: 780i/790i - Voltage FSB: 780i/790i - Voltage SPP: 780i/790i - Voltage MCP: Motherboard BIOS: SZ2Z Video Card Driver: 9.11 Chipset Driver: CD Sound Card Driver: CD So my question is: Is Windows incorrectly reporting the actual CPU speed? Was my actual OC set by DS 3.75GHz? My DS 3 ring binder contained no info regarding anything about the OC, temps or anything else that was done to my rig other than the Order Config Receipt of my rig.
Can anyone clarify this for me. I've read in the forums that some of you are requesting an email with all the data regarding your rig info, temps, and whatnot from DS. Who do I email my request for this info to?
I have seen multiple references to software that can be loaded to check all of the realtime operating info. I've never done this, nor needed to this point in time. What software would be best for a noob like me to check into for this?
Thanks.

CPU-z
GPUz HWMonitor cpuz will tell you your cpu and system info, including your clock speed. gpuz will give you info on your gpu hwmonitor will give you temps for parts. put the pc under load (playing games or something and watch the "core" speed, it will show your real oc speed. yes windows reports the stock speed and not the oc speed. Thanks DST4ME. you always come through!
I suspected that Win7 was not reporting the OC, but I am curious about the 3.57GHz it is displaying right after the 2.67GHz. Why would it show two speeds?
Also, do I just send an email to DS to get my info sent to me. The DS 3 ring binder is a nice touch, but it would be nice if they included all relevant printed out info in it along with the discs and such.
Thanks

The 2.67Ghz speed you see is the stock speed rated for the processor. The speed next to it is the speed we overclocked it to.
We would love to include relevant information, however we aren't the same type of computer company like Dell or HP. We don't really have set model configurations. Everything is 100% custom so it is near impossible for us to maintain resources to provide up to the minute data such as that.
The Internet, Google, etc are great places to look, even manufacture websites.
Never the less, we're more than happy to help email or pin-point you to any information you may need for the entire life-time you have the system.

Thanks "Alex"
So the 3.57GHz reported by my Win7 is the ACTUAL OC speed, not the 3.75GHz that I received in my Stage 7 email shown in the post at the beginning of this thread? Why the discrepancy? Someone being dyslexic with the numbers? Granted, not a tragedy to me, but if this is a common error in reporting the numbers, some here will be a little more than disappointed in the difference, as some seem to nearly live and die by their OC bragging rights.
And the references to emails from DS aquired by some of the members of the forums regarding temp reports and whatnot are not available?
The info that DST4ME has provided will, I'm sure, provide me with what I'm looking for, but was just wanting to clarify the two questions above.
Thanks.

HMMM...sorry about the above quote from DST4ME.
Second try.
My Win7 is showing "920 @ 2.67GHz 3.57 GHz"

Haven't finished loading the rig. No games at all at present other than an old copy of Half-Life. Like I've said before, I don't game much. Been wanting to get the latest Half-Life! Now that I have a machine that can handle gaming again.

Not, sure about this sinice I'm no engineer, but I think the 3.57 comes from the fact that the OS thinks your cpu has a multiplier of x20, but when put under load intel turbo boost unlocks 1 extra multiplier so it becomes x21, therefore 3.57 becomes 3.75. This also explains why the 920 is recognized by the OS as 2.66, but when under load can turbo boost itself up to 2.93ghz.

I'm clearly no engineer either, but that kinda makes since, If I'm understanding correctly.
This explains why DST4ME wants me to put the system under full load. If your info is correct, then maybe even without the software DST4ME refers to, Win7 might show a different reading on the GHz while under load.
As soon as I get the chance, and can load a game up, then this would be interesting to look at. As mentioned before, I only have a copy of Half-Life and Half-Life Opposing Force. If I were to load them and assuming that the Win7 64bit will even run them, I bet they would not be very intense games to really test the system.
I notice that no one seems to talk about Half-Life on these forums, must not be a very popular game or just too out of date for anyone to even care about.
