???? Hook it up to the mobo?  You just..... insert it.

If you're talking about hooking up the headers so that the line out, mic, inputs that your computer case has.  You can't.  Xonar D2X has no headers for it.  (Hence you'll be stuck inserting it via the back)

Oh.  (Sorry for the late response)

If you're talking about THAT.

Then yes.  Supposedly you need the floopy disc header to power the Xonar D2X (since it apparently needs that source of power)

It's not supplied with the Xonar D2X more like it's supplied with the mobo.

What motherboard do you have?

Also, to power up the Xonar D2X (otherwise it wouldn't work lol)

http://c1.neweggimages.com/NeweggImage/productimage/29-132-005-05.jpg

Lower right corner that thing.  It has 4 pins.

The manual explains how to power it up.  (It should, I've downloaded the manual from the Asus site lol )

"One available 4-pin power cable from PC’s power supply unit" - From manual

Try and find that, if not you may need an adapter.  (Supposedly 4 pin power cables are meant to power stuff like floppy units and what not.)

Depends on what type of power supply you have.  Do you know what power supply you're getting?  It may vary from power supply to power supply.

Your welcome.  Not a problem for me.  As for your PSU

What if scenario that your power supply DIDN'T have a floppy connector.  I suppose here's a sound solution lol.

??? HM when you mean "4 pin inside your case to use." you're not literally referring to the computer case right?

The Xonar D2X needs a connection from the PSU to be powered up.  (Unless you're reffering to some unique direction of a setup, where power is relayed through the computer case THEN to some connection from the computer case to the sound card.)

And yes everything will work out, since I linked to the exact model (based on your setup)

It shows there's x2 Floppy connectors (which translates to a 4 pin connector anyway)

Besides the only "6 pins" on a PSU, are the ones meant for your GPUs.

-rubs head- Ok, you officially made an already answered situation into something unnecessarily complex.

Now I'M confused. -reads over your two posts again and again-

@Harley: It's okay ahaha.  Actually you did bring up one thing to note for.

http://c1.neweggimages.com/NeweggImage/productimage/17-139-007-06.jpg

http://c1.neweggimages.com/NeweggImage/productimage/17-139-007-11.jpg

Unlike other PSUs where everything is connected within already.  There's something called "modulars" as shown in the images (those cables you see in the first are built in).  (Which is good because it entitles you the option to have less cable clutter)

Well the main important cables are directly connected into the PSU.  But as for the rest.. -dls the manual-

Edit: I confirmed that, yes amongst the "modular" cables is the 4 pin floppy connector.

Edit 2: And yes from what I remember it's DS job to supply any leftover cables, cds etc anyway (Except for OEM products).  If need be you can always ask them (e-mail call or whichever you prefer) to prematurely have said cable inserted already, to be used with your Asus Xonar D2X)
