Well, after a couple weekends of fussin with the new box trying to figure out the in's & out's of Vista I finally loaded FSX up and spent this past weekend playing with in game graphics adjustments (much higher than default of course which was fairly high from the get go upon installation), vid card adjustments, and a couple of tweaks to the fsx.cfg and wow, I can't believe it. Awesome. I just spent 2 hours flying out and around Friday Harbor (natch) at sunset (simply gorgeous), then cruised on down and flew around Seattle putting her down in the dark at Boeing Field on an appoach that took me alongside Tacoma International (always a load on the system). Loads of night lighting, traffic on the ground and in the air, and it was smooth. 30 to 60 fps, I still don't believe it.
Of course I'm still running stock FSX/Accel at this point (and le me tellya', after years of flying with all the addon goodied like UTX, GEX, FSGenesis and Pilot's Mesh, Scenery Tech Landclass, FEX, ASX, and recently XGraphics for clouds and weather, it's a shock how bland plain FSX is on terrain features).
So far not a CTD, freeze, stutter, or anything.
I've still got some trimming in of the particulars to do, and I need to set up a couple of repeatable flight scenarios to monitor so as I throw on addons I can keep track of graphics performance and see at what point and with what addons I bring this system to it's knees.
That being said, well done DS, even with only 2 hours flight time this system has exceeded my expectations at this point. Thank you.

I've had my box two weeks today....no issues either.
I only have COD4 and FIFA 2008 on my system. COD4 is max'd out w/everything on high and at my monitor's res of 1680x1050 (22" wide screen) and it max'd out at 60fps. I also have 2x GTX 260's.
FIFA I haven't checked anything, but it's silky smooth. Hoping to get Crysis soon and really test it out.
Glad you got some flyin' in. POST PICS DARN YOU!

Liquid Cooling works fine, my core temps around 51, 49, 35 and 35 degrees C at idle, not much more when stressed that I've noticed yet and the 280 runs around 44 degree at idle (according to ESA). Still need to find out how to access the reservoir(s) at some point. They sit under the ESA and 2 DVD drives. I'm guessing they'll slide out the back of the rack they sit in. Shouldn't need to worry about it until after Xmas, I'll just keep an eye on my temps.

Thanks, it's been surprisingly good. It's a totally different experience when it runs this smooth. And the vehicle traffic on the roads and other aircraft taking off and landing and in the air... really gotta' keep my thumb glued to the hat switch at all times, doing Linda Blairs, LOL.

Cosmos S, just noticed that, I went with the 950i at the last minute, not the Cosmos S. Gotta edit that. Sorry.

If you haven't guessed by now, I am clueless about using a digital camera or re-sizing.
And I would point out that these are pics of my originally delivered box. It went back very qickly to DS for removal of the sound card and installation of a 3rd Raptor so the config is different now.

Yep, got that right. I'm still not sure how I get to the reservois to check/add fluid when needed. I'll call DS at some point and keep an eye on temps with ESA in the meantime.

So, does the CPU have a different reservoir than the GZPU's? Also, what temps are you getting at the CPU. The one i helped install was getting around 25-30 idle, and no more than 42 playin crysis. Was in a very cool room though, prob around 70-72.
Also, system looks freakin awesome!!!

FLighT if you can give us your temps under-load that would be great, idle temps are suppose to be low and can't help us get a good idea of what temps are under load.

Okay, taken some temps on the new liquid cooled box. The only thing that appears whacked (***) are the CPU 0 and 1 numbers in ESA. Not sure why but they've been consistently that way at idle since day 1.
The second set of CPUID #'s look better and make sense. I'm still running stock FSX. I'll run another set once I get all the add ons loaded and activated, make say a 5 hour flight and see what the results are. But, so far, it looks to me like the liquid cooling is working okay. Keep in mind I have only a single video card, no sound card and a dual loop on the liquid cooling so there's plenty of open space to dissipate heat before the 4 (?) fans move it through and out the back.
