I have never done this before. I kept looking at IBUYPOWER and Cyberpower, but saw negative reviews. I then thought about Alienware, but also saw negative things. I finally found Digital Storm and this really looks like the place to buy a computer if you're not going to build it yourself. Thanks in advance for your help!
Budget: $3000 - $3500 Expectations: Best components for the money. Single display. Want to be able to upgrade. Usage: Mainly gaming. 24 inch Dell Screen Special Needs: Would like a fairly quiet computer. Not sure about overclocking. Is there a downside to doing that? For instance will this just add heat to the computer? 3) Should I have 2 hard drives and do I need RAID. 4) Any downside to having usb pci express card. 5) I have Logitech 5.1 sound. Do I need creative titanium or is the integrated motherboard good enough? 6) Does overclocking the computer wear out the components? 7) I read someone say you need better version of Windows if you have more RAM? |

bbaisw,
the extra VRAM is only used/needed at resolutions higher than 1900x1080, so if youre going to be gaming at a higher res then yes, other wise no. keep in mind that even with the higher vram you are probably going to want to swap out the gpus in two-three years anyway to stay currant. |

a couple of things;
first DST, your link above is to an ODE 0... and second, bbaisw you'll want to have Digital Storm add an additional 200mm fan to the top of your case (it comes with 3, has room for 4) which will cost ~$20. while your at it, how about some shiny internal lights ($10)? if you really wanted you could liquid cool the CPU to stage 4 and still be in your price range (keep in mind that it would be a luxury and is NOT needed by ANY means, it just looks cool and keeps your CPU REALLY cool). I personally have my CPU liquid cooled and think its great/awesome, but its not necessary at all. also to answer some of your questions, 1) go with the power supply DST recommended, it has more than enough power for present and probably future gpus 2) the only downsides i can think of to the media card reader are that it would take up a 5" drive bay and a SATA port, both of which you'd have extras of. but if you dont needed why not save the money? most devices come with usb connectors anyway. 3) you'll want the above hard drives, and RAID isn't needed. 4) it takes up a PCI slot that you could use for something else... if you need the ports, go for it, otherwise id skip it, the mobo has lots. 5) the integrated sound will be fine unless youre really really picky about sound. im not and i use 5.1 on integrated and im very happy with it. 6) it can if not done properly. the two things to watch are the temps and the vcore. the temps vary, and the vcore is just a setting. if they are with in acceptable ranges then your hardware will be obsolete before it wears out anyway. you want your temps to be below 85' C and your vcore on your CPU to be under 1.4. Digital Storm is good at OC, dont worry to much about it, just ask them to keep your vcore low. 7) i think thats right about the ram, but its like if you want to have 16GB vs 24GB or something. regardless youre not going to need that much ram. just some thoughts, youre going to love Digital Storm Edited by sneaky George W - 30 Oct 2011 at 3:00am |

Just to clarify, I ask for the standard factory chasis fans with an extra one on top. And I can ask that all of these be LED lights (red). But don't upgrade to LED performance fans because those are different and would add noise? Thanks for your patience!!!

fan upgrade is different, you want to ask for "oem 200mm red led fan". for all your fans but the front, and the optional on top.

I'm confused as to why not the 200 mm led red on the front and the optional on top?

I guess I didn't word it correctly, you do want the led on the optional top but the front fan is already a 230mm red led fan, no sense in changing it to a smaller fan 200mm fan.
