This thing is stupidly large, will be a pain to install, place an immense strain on your mobo, and looks like it'll block the 1st 2 DIMM slots and motherboard heatsinks as well. Typical for today's e-peen wankfest and MOOAR POOWAH attitudes. I'll stick with my nimble corsair h50 in a push pull configuration thank you very much.

the v8 is a great cooler also, if you have that or the d12 you are good to go.

if you like few degrees less or are just getting a pc, then the d14 is great.

starting at 2:03, it does seem to block the dimm slots. i think it would have to be uninstalled if someone was to switch ram.

It's actually only 1240 grams (2.73 pounds) with two fans on it. For reference, the smaller U12P SE2 Noctua is 940 grams (2.07 pounds) with two fans. I also read good things about the D14's mount being very top notch.

But if you're worried you could always have DS ship it without the fans on it (1070 grams) or even completely detached altogether except for the mounting base, as long as you're comfortable with applying the thermal paste and mounting it yourself. Or know someone who could do it for you.

From the looks of it the cooler completely is incompatible with ram with high profile heatsinks like the corsair dominator, or ocz flex.

Depends on the motherboard, how many sticks you are using, and the direction you are orienting it. For example check out pages 21 and 22 of this wonderfully comprehensive review for shots of one not blocking ram slots. http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Flab501.ro%2Fracire%2Fstudiu-privind-arhitectura-twin-tower-noctua-nh-d14-asus-triton-88-prolimatech-megashadow-si-thermalright-ifx-14&sl=auto&tl=en
