NVIDIA 4K GSYNC Monitor Prototype at CES 2014

While visiting NVIDIA's booth at CES 2014, I ran across a prototype ASUS PQ321Q 4K monitor with GSYNC. For those not familiar with GSYNC, GSYNC is NVIDIA's proprietary technology that syncs the refresh rate of the GPU with the monitor. Whats the benefit? To make it simple, it reduces tearing to essentially zero and makes gameplay much smooth sue to the fact that the monitor is displays the frame as soon as the GPU is ready.

When asked, a NVIDIA rep stated that currently there is no plans to bring this monitor to the market with GSYNC pre-installed. However, with the recent 1440p GSYNC monitor announcements, it's only a matter of time until we see a 4K GSYNC monitor.

Looks awesome!! A lot of people seem to be excited about upgrading to Gsync enabled monitors as soon as they can, and who knows, maybe I will, but I'm more tempted to wait until a 4K Gsync monitor is out and I don't need a lotto win to buy it lol

ASUS did announce a $799 4K monitor with a TN panel! I think next year will be the year 4K really goes mainstream.

Ah so there is. Sorry, I haven't been following the latest news very closely. All I knew was people were excited about the other Asus announcement for the 27" 120Hz 1440p GSYNC enabled monitor.I guess we'll need to wait a while before a 4k/120Hz/Gsync is out and affordable
