Strange issue cropped up with the latest windows 10 upadate-
I noticed that my Nvidia control panel is gone. I re-installed drivers and also rolled them back- The control panel will come back- However- when I shut down and re-start, panel is gone.
In reliability history. executable file is still there- but will not start. NO impact to performance I can tell- but just eating away at my OCD part of the brain

I would try a Clean install of the Nvidia drivers, by selecting it at the beginning of the driver update, or using CCleaner to uninstall all Nvidia reference.   Add/Remove programs can also be used to delete all old Nvidia files.  Then install the already downloaded driver.

Sometimes going into Device manager, right click the card and Uninstall, reboot and reinstall will fix problems.

Thanks-
add/remove then re-install did the trick. Somehow I had two versions of the driver installed (if thats even possible)- OCD now cured at the moment

as always- good to get quick help on these forums.

well....I may have to go deeper into the rabbit hole on this one.
when I power down completely and restart the next day- the control panel is no longer available.
However- If I do a restart after I power up- it comes back.
I am wondering since I set in the BIOS to turn off all USB Ports completely can be causing this issue. (the cat was freaking out at night with the keyboard lights still on).

Well problem solved- I disabled "windows fast startup" mode in the power settings.
Any drawback from doing this? I can live with a few seconds more during the boot from a ssd

Good find.

I have recommended disabling fast startup a number of times to fix a variety of issues.    Not sure why it effects some but not others, but that's software for ya.
