Nice. Specs I’ve seen show the 2070 being 10% stronger than the gtx 1080 for less money.

The graphics shown with the RTX on (as compared with it off) were so good that it made the current top gpu look like Atari did (not really).  Oh boy. Big%20Smile

The 2080 Ti Founders Edition starting at $1,199...Also, from what I've been reading, this generation could be the death knell for SLI?

I am not sure SLI will ever go away.   As new cards come out manufacturers of monitors keep increasing the resolution.   8k gaming monitors shouldn't be that far away.

NVIDIA is selling new SLI bridges for the new cards as well.

I agree with Asangard about the future of sli.    Testing I just saw involving ray tracing, a huge feature of the new cards, is that when turned on to show reflections on all surfaces, it brings the 2080Ti to its knees even at 1080p.    That’s how demanding the new feature can be.

I’m sure gamers buying a 2080Ti aren’t going to be happy stepping back to 1080p to use the ray tracing feature.    Monitor resolution increasing and features such as this will keep the need for sli around for awhile.

I could be wrong but ray tracing could be the new "PhysX" though. Will it catch on? I'm somewhat skeptical to be honest. Also, that means software developers will need to take advantage of this feature which again may be an issue as game creators like to make their games available to the widest breadth of players and that most (other than the hard core enthusiasts) don't have cutting edge hardware. I agree about monitors possibly creating a push but progress on that side has been pretty slow really considering what people have been expecting. That's just my two cents on this...

There’s already games ready to launch and others in development with the ray tracing features.   Battlefield 5 and Shafow of Tomb Raider are two mentioned.

Doesn’t mean we’ll have to enable the in game feature, but it just might catch on big. Videos I saw with it compared to no ray tracing were awesome.   I wouldn’t buy a new card just to get the feature, I don’t think, but it’ll still be there.
