Nvidia to leave only six partners
Exclusive: The list Very well informed sources said that Nvidia will cut all but six partners. The ones to stay are EVGA, PC partner (Zotac), Asus, MSI, Palit and XFX. We don't know anything more than the list and it looks that Nvidia will announce this very shortly. Everyone else who is not on this list will be cut off and this will make much better breathing space for the remaining six partners. At press time we don't have any more details than that. |

As long as XFX/ASUS/EVGA is with em, Nvidia isnt heading for crappers.
Did you hear FC2 will be dx 10.1? Nvid gotta hurry up and release a vid. card that supports dx 10.1 and is better than 4870x2; it has to be in 600$ range, not 700$+. Edited by Nomak - 20 Oct 2008 at 9:10am |

they are in a bit of bind, but at the same time the games are not at a point to take advantage of all this GPU technology.
so ya they are behind, but because of games themselves, were they are at is plenty. I mean say you put two 4870x2 in one system, what are you trying to run with that, that two 280 GTX can't do? but ya from a GPU vs GPU point of view, they do need to come out with something if they want to compete with ATI GPU. What is the main difference between DX10 and 10.1? Is it really going to effect the people who have DX10 gpus?

I mean there are not that many games out there that use dx 10, by the time games start using dx 10.1, it will be time for a new PC or something. its gonna be a while.

There are already games coming out thatll support dx 10.1 so you might as well pick up a vid. card to go with it.
Why wouldnt you?

Theres one game atm that i know of, Far Cry 2. Probly more coming depending on FC2s success and implementation of it.
And i recall nvids pledge never to go dx10.1 due to its uselessness, which could also be attributed to current dx10. - but you do get prettier lights. More reasons to go ATI!
[edit] Assassins creed recent or not so recent patch removed dx10.1 support, because nvid put a big stink about it. Worth mentioning that dx10.1 provided gains in performance but their buggy implementation of it led them to disable support for it, permanently.

OK so then there are not many games coming out with it, there is only one game.
and I'm sure there are not going to be many following it anytime soon. I'm an ex ATI customer also. I liked ATI till AMD took it over. |

I didn't have any ATI problems till AMD took over either
also I read that nvidia is waiting for dx11.0 to come-out and they are just gonna skip over dx10.1 Edited by DST4ME - 20 Oct 2008 at 12:40pm |

BFG is staying, 99% certain.
Nvidia won't survive much longer if they continue to treat their customer like garbage. |

Aside from defective chips fiasco, which they tried their best to write off on someone else, where exactly are they treating their customers like garbage?

I've never had any issues with ATI drivers, nor have I had problems with AMD. I've not heard of issues with ATI drivers not keeping current. I have had driver issues with my nVidia chipset however. My current mobo has certain compatibility issues and I haven't found any fix yet. The nVidia nTune program is useless. It never has been able to produce a stable overclock and there's no way to control how aggressive to OC. |

I never had a problem w/ ATI, but everyone seems to have a different opinion/experience.
What i did have the (mis)fortune of seeing first hand were problems with crappy nvid mobos, which resulted, most of the time, in having to repalce the whole board.
"Let us quote him: “This is absolutely not true” and we apologize for all the confusion that we might have created. These six will get special treatment, but it looks like the rest won’t be cut off. There will be cuts, but the holy six won't be the only ones to stay on board."
