    Posted: 01 Nov 2009 at 12:35pm
Hi I have a HAF922 case with the NZXT Sentry Lx Fan Controller. I have several questions on its hook-up & operation. It reads fan rpm with a blue bar & white Dig readout. I have 2 fans on side panel , 2 on top of case, stock front, 1 rear, & the V8 cpu Coolmaster.. The NZXT can control up to 5 fans. Mine has Fan #1 inside loc. ?, #2 Top Rear, #3 Top Front, # 4 Unknow so far, #5 not running any fan. In auto mode Fans #1,2,3 running about 1000rpm with all temps around 70F, fan #4 running at 400 rpm & has no Blue rpm bar lit. In manual mode I can control the speeds of fans 1-3, not #4, Fans #1-3 go up to 1700rpm max, fan # 4 goes up to 700rpm, still no blue rpm bar & I can't adjust its speed unlike I can with fans #1-3.. The 2 fans on the side panel, the rear fan, & the stock red front fan are not controlled at all by the Nzxt
So my questions to other owners is this NORMAL Operation of th NZXT for fan #4 postion ? And I wonder why theres no fan #5 hooked up ?
One other stupid question is ALL the fans are blowing air into the case is this correct ? I would think one should be sucking some air out of the case to increase air flow, right now its like pressurizing the entire case. Thanks.

the stock fans can't be controlled.

the fan in the back is the exhaust fan, it blows air out.

[QUOTE=DST4ME]the stock fans can't be controlled.

Ok but the 2 Blue fans mounted to Side case and the 2 on the top of my HAF922 our not stock, they were add ons so could they be controlled ? The 2 add on fans on the top of the case are controlled buy the controller but not the side 2..
I guess they  connected the side fans as if they were stock fans useing the case wiring instead of the fan controller ? If thats the case couldn't I hook them up to my controller [at least one of the two] if I can find the fan #5 controller wiring since my #5 fan position is not hooked up to any fans ? Thanks for you help.

you better call DS and ask them, I don't know what they did with your side fans to be honest.

Hi just wanted to update what I found out in case it may help others, after doing alot of online searching heres what I got
.
#1 - Fixed the Fan #4 Blue led RPM indicator & making #4 fan rpm adjustable all I had to do was RESET the unit with the front panel Reset Button, its all GOOD TO GO. also determined it controls the RED front case fan.

#2 Side case fans are not controllable because their wired to the case wiring & its only 2 wire harness, NZXT Controller requires 3 wires going to the fans, 2 wires won't work.
.
#3 I also found out that the top fans 1 is running air outlet & 1 running inlet.
So now its back to setting it all up. THANKS for your help. R.A.T.Ermm
