Vertex II is a prototype, it wont be out until next year.
The SATA 3 with 6 Gbps will be out by the end of this year. |

There are other SSD manufacturers scrambling to come to market (Samsung...?) not sure of sizes/cost/read/write etc...or how they compare with OCZ... Of course, there's always Plan "B"...get something now and swap out/move it beginning of next year... "Best laid plans of mice and men will go astray" |

well I think this EX series with the 260MB/s read and 210MB/s write is decent enough, by the end of the year there are gonna be many new SSDs out that will be faster then what ever is out now

Agreed with DST. I really am to the point of just ordering my system without the SSD.
Heres the response from OCZ's forum guy in regards to the Summit Series SSD. If I'm placing this right it was the next in line before the Vertex 2 to be released. This is an opinion and may not be fact: Its hard to place a slot for Summit for me, where would we position it? I can see it may still come to market but with everything we are doing with Indilinx doubts have crept in. So something else is coming out as well. So do ya wait for new mb's with SATA 3.0 or just go ahead and order lol. |

well I'm not waiting for no SATA 3.0 when there is nothing that will max out 2.0 yet, and to be honest at around 300MB/s read and write speed I'm good to go, at some point the speed difference becomes very little, things can only load so fast.

I'm confused as to why you think anybody on this forum would give you advice aceboy44. Anytime anybody provides you with any that you don't like or don't care to take you are abrasive and rude. I suggest you try and seek advice elsewhere as I'm sure this community has had enough of your poor attitude.

aceboy44 I suggest you stick with a traditional harddrive since I doubt your viao has enough processing power to take advantage of all the extra bandwith an ssd has to offer.

My sony Vaio VGN-SR290 is as follows:
Intel Core 2 Due T9900 3.06 Ghz
4GB DDR2 RAM
120GB HDD (5400RPM)
256mb VGA ATI Raidon
13.3 inch LCD
Wirless + Bluetooth + webcam + fingerprint reader
OCZ Vertex 120GB worked fine with my sony laptop but will the intel x25-e or OCZ Vertex EX make any difference than my previous OCZ Vertex 120GB or not?
Thanks in advance

I don't know whether your really retarded or just a really good actor, but as you can see here http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SYCTOProcess?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&LBomId=8198552921665549558 The sony vgn sr290 doesn't even have an option for a T9900 cpu,
Seriously if your going to be troll at least be a halfway decent one and TRY to do some research before sprouting BS because currently you just come off as being mildly annoying and very pathetic at that. |

If I get a good price I will sell it.
At the moment (since there are no interested customers for my laptop) I will upgrade it from HDD - SSD (intel x25-e or OCZ Vertex EX) Edited by aceboy44 - 23 Aug 2009 at 12:39pm |
