Topic: Odd behavior with COMODO Firewall Pro v3.0 Posted: 04 Oct 2008 at 10:50am |
Installed the app on my new Vista x64 PC.
Noticed some irregularities in this FW's behavior. Basically, a normal firewall app would ask whether I want to allow or deny whenever an application is trying to access the net for the first time, and then based on my response I could have the app remember my choice for this particular app. However, I launched several apps for the first time which tried to access the net but COMODO only asked me about one of them: uTorrent. The rest of the apps: Firefox, AVG, SuperAntispyware, CCleaner, etc. connected to the net right away and COMODO did not budge. Also, while it did ask about uTorrent it did so late. By the time it decided to ask me, uTorrent was already d/ling stuff. What the hell is wrong with this app!? Any ideas? |

I don't like comodo myself, I find it to be a crappy looking firewall but some do like it.

I really like Comodo. However, those programs were probably learned to be safe and programed into Comodo.

Which is why I don't like comodo, cause if a virus names itself one of those apps, stupid comodo will let it do what ever it wants
if you were on XP I could show you a couple of good firewalls but vista is stuck with a few not so great ones. |

Yeah, I can't wait for Zonealram 64bit. Been using regular ZA for years and it worked perfectly.

Cause its a pain in the arse and it tends to not let go when you disable it.
