Just wondering for a future buy, but how much would it cost to upgrade the ODE 1 to be SLI capable? I know digital storm charges a base fee of $50 (one time right? or per upgrade?) for customizing the ODE, but would it be worth it to go with the 800w psu (or 1000w?) and asus deluxe mobo for sli 570's (once i get the dough id upgrade to sli and when the games needed it)
although i want this i dont want the lvl 3 because i dont need the blu ray or lc, i want to be safe and go with air because id be moving it from college to home a few times a year. But the question at hand is would it be worth it to upgrade it? Or should i go with a fully customized model? Id probably be gaming at nothing much higher than 1080, but most likely lower, depends on what the budget allows (still allocating funds lol

I would have to actually make a custom config, then figure the price difference of the 600w to the corsair 1000w, the mobo to the deluxe, and then add $100 for upgrade fee for both of those, and see if the price difference is worth it or not.
the lc is lower performer anyways so your air cooling is actually better, not missing anything there. but the ssd is important, what about the ssd? so to add the ssd/1000w corsair psu/deluxe mobo to the ode 1, I'm thinking its gonna be the same price as ode 3 or a little higher, however it will have better psu/mobo/cpu cooler and for future upgrades, there is something to be said about that. custom sli with bigger case haf 932, deluxe mobo, 1000w corsair, a70 deluxe, win7 pro will endup around $2690. I'm thinking customized ode 1 with deluxe mobo/100/1000w corsair, a70 cooler will endup around $2550 and ode 3 is around $2330 at the end you sacrifice a few things psu/cpu cooler in ode 3 but get a sli for best price, or you wait and save up and get the parts that assure future sli upgrades with more options. |

yeah im talking $1600-$1700 for my budget but i could buy the ssd later so without that how much would we be looking at?
What would the ssd do? I'm on a relatively tight budget so i would only want that if i could see a huge performance increase, and I couldn't go with the 800w cooler? i dont need a cooler upgrade either, you were adding that? Right? Edited by HAL - 22 Jul 2011 at 7:46pm |

take off about $250 for the ssd.
ssd makes things go faster as far as loading times, read/write, 4k files size use which is most of our use, etc. 800w psu has a limit for sli upgrades. I think did add the cpu cooler. |
