Hey guys, I was just wondering if there were plans to maybe upgrade the GTX 570 cards to the 2.5Gb cards in the near future? Love the price point on that system, but I would love to get the upgraded cards in it. Thanks for reading.

Hi Dutty,
I can't speak for DS but you have to consider that the ODE-3 is built for high performance at low or moderate cost. I don't know of any other system, from any company, that gives you the same bang for the buck. The ODE series offer great performance but there is no attempt to make them top of the line performers. That is what custom built systems are intended for. If DS starts adding higher cost equipment for marginal performance increases they defeat the purpose of the ODE concept. I don't think you will see the 2.5 570 cards any time in the future unless they drop in price. Frank |

Well, reason why I was asking, there is roughly a $80 difference between the EVGA 1.2Gb and the 2.5Gb. Assuming that is the brand that DS uses, it equates to $160 dollar difference in price. I used current prices from newegg for two cards as for my example. Just seems that they could be putting a better card in the machine for not much more than what they are charging now, which is why I was asking.
I have bought one computer from DS already and I am in the market for a new one down the line. With that said, I was only wondering if they had any plans to upgrade the ODE 3. Can't argue with the price for the machine, but I wouldn't want to drop the coin on it to have it upgraded a month later, lol. |

We can't, as we have a set price point.

@Dutty you also have to take into account that the price of gpu in your system, includes, warranty, testing, labor, so the newegg price does not include all of that.
Depending on your res, you may not need the extra vram to being with. |
