Ok, so I was pretty set on the ODE level 1, but I just built this and would like opinions. I'm trying to keep it around $1,500. I posted asking some general questions in that forum, but in case you didn't see that I'll post my intentions for the PC. I'm getting back into flight simulators, mostly FSX and DCS A-10C. I might play some shooters, but that I mainly do on consoles with my buddies so I don't need to max out Metro 2033 or BF3 or anything else like that.
I figure this might give me some leeway to upgrade in the future with SLI because of the motherboard and PSU compared to the Level 1 and the i5 "downgrade" is still great for gaming. Any input, comments, suggestions, criticisms, and everything else is welcome. There's just too many options it's driving me nuts lol. Thanks again guys.Level 1 is $1499 and this configuration is $1,475 Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master Elite 430 |

that 750w is not gonna let you sli much. the 560 ti could endup pushing it a bit and in the future if you wanted a card that was similar in requierments to a 570, you are not doing sli with that at all.
2500K is great for gaming yes, but you are gonna be using it to run other stuff also right? in the next few years you are not gonna think that the downgrade was worth it. Dont just think about what your pc will do today, but how it will do next year and year after that and so on. You do know that win7 uses ht right so your windows performance will be less also. also that psu has a 2 year warranty. If I remember correctly fsx does not utilize sli so you are better off with a better gpu and cpu. Edited by DST4ME - 21 Jul 2011 at 5:07pm |

Thanks DST4ME, I was hoping you'd chime in. The only other stuff I would run is a very basic video editor that came with my Kodak Playsport camera (no heavy editing) and the occasional Paint.NET image edit.
I don't think FSX does SLI, but I was more referring to games that may peek my interest down the road. I also figured for SLI I would add another 560 Ti and not upgrade to two higher cards at the same time. In any case, it seems like the Level 1 is going to be best for me and my budget/goals though like I had originally thought. I appreciate it! |
