Was perusing the DS site while I await the arrival of my ODE v4 and noticed that the TwisterBoost Technology Section had changed.

Used to state:
Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz

It now states:
Stage 1: Overclock CPU 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz

I am assuming that this is directly linked to the Ivy Bridge heat issues.

Food for thought.

I am kind of bummed that my ODE won't be able to hit the Stage 2 numbers, but the last thing I want is problems later on down the road.

Here's the official response:

To ensure the stability of the machine, we’ve recently lowered the aggressiveness on the CPU overclock to our Stage 1 package. Your processor is still overclocked tremendously from stock settings and this bump is going to give your machine a great performance boost, the small reduction would only make a very small difference in performance but a big difference in the overall stability of your machine. We wanted to ensure you know about this recent change.

Just ordered a ODE V2 level 4. DS can under-overclock mine all they want. Not to make light of your concern , Megido , but I'm old and slow and don't want stability issues. Crazy

so what happens to the customers that ordered their ODEs before the overclock change? are those ODEs more unstable?

They are not more unstable, all systems that ship from our facility are 100% stable and have passed our stress tests.

Hello,

Im new to the DS family, having purchased my own ODE V2 recently. I came across this post about the stage changes and thought I might point out something else. I placed my order online. After viewing my emails from DS, my order lists the Lvl 4 but the specs listed are for the Lvl 3. Based on the price, I assume this is what I'll be receiving-I'm sure I'll be just as happy with the lvl 3 as I would be with the Lvl 4. I thought it might be worth mentioning, may be some kind of glitch with the online ordering process.

That may have happened when our team switched the configs over, as long as the specs and pricing are correct, you should be perfectly fine. Strong
