Hi DS Community!

I’ve had my ODE Lv 1 for a few weeks already, and it runs perfectly. The only thing is, at start up, the tower would light up, and restart itself. I know this is OC related, so I didn’t really think too much about it. But sometimes it would reboot about 3 times and in BIOS, it would state that the OC has failed. If anything else, it’s more of a slight annoyance and I don’t mind as long as it performs as it should.
My main question is: Would this damage the PC in anyway? Is it a MUST to have the OC retuned, and if I don’t will cause unfixable problems in the future?

Thanks in advance!

Just call DS up they will walk you thru it and reset your oc, it could be different things that can be causing this.

you should definitely find out what it is and get it fixed.

Imagine if I could make you think 10 times faster, or have you think at the speed you are now, in a very general round about way thats oc, with oc you are able to do tasks much faster.

So if your computer is doing this (Lighting up on boot, then shutting back down, then lighting back up and successfully booting), its an issue and you should call customer support?

I think so, thats not a normal boot up, unless it has something to do with how asus boots up.

Usually the double POST is not a real problem and helps with booting up a system when overclocked. You can try this process which I got from ASUS to see if that stops it for you, if it does, make sure you don't have any stability issues, if you do, you can call us and we can help you fine tune the overclock:

From time to time we needed to implement full resets in order to maintain stability due to the architecture of the Sandy Bridge platform. For instance, the system may require one full reset when the PCH power has been cut during S5 power state. To fix the most common additional reset (double POST when powering on from off state), enter UEFI BIOS -> go to ‘Advanced’ tab -> go down to ‘APM’, press Enter -> enable the “Power on by PCIe.” function. Then press F10 to save & exit. After save & exit, let the system boot into Windows or other OS, then perform a proper shutdown: Start button -> Shut down. You will no longer have the double POST. We will fix this in an upcoming BIOS release.

My ODE does double POST about once every week or two.  No consistency, like after gaming, etc., so I'm not too concerned.

Alex, thanks for the info.  I'll log it away just in case.Big%20Smile
