I just received my ODE 3 and love it!

Anyway I read somewhere that overclocking your video cards would increase performance, and so I did, and it did. :)

I'm just wondering if this is safe or not? Will this ruin anything?

you don't oc the memory, just the core and shader.

you also don't just go up in clock, you go up a bit then a test make sure where you are at is good then you move on, you want to do this at 750mhz and up, go up in 10mhz and run a test like kombustor or fah gpu client follow my fah guide here, let the gpu complete a working unit to 100%, if there are no errors then your oc is stable.

keep in mind, oced cards go bad sooner.

What's wrong with overclocking them?

Do they start to fail over time?

its just that the gains are little for lots more heat. Also some cards are better for overclocking than others. Amd graphics cards are generally better overclockers than nvidia graphics cards.

AT the end you gonna gain like 2 to6 or so fps which most times don't mean much, but they will shorten the life of the gpu if they are oced 24/7.

the 570's power design really doesn't support overclocking as well as the 580's. Theres a larger than acceptable number of people who are reporting dead evga gtx 570 SC and those really arent that aggressively overclocked.

You just need an aftermarket cooler to replace the reference cooler.
