Hi Y'all
I had gotton some very good info from y'all here before and want to thank you, this las week the boiler went out and i hit a 300lb deer with my druck crushing in the rightfront side and the insurence deductable is gonna hurt. so my budget for a desktop has severly been cutback. So for me to get a good video card and a SSD + standard hd combination ill be getting the ODE lcl 2 (i know the ode 3 is a much better value but i just cant squeeze the extra $340 anymore like i was able to) but i did notice that the ODE lvl 2 and ODE lvl3 use the same 800w corsair GS power supply. While i know its expensive and not as efficient or as good as a good SLI rig.. would i in next november/december be able to upgrade the current GTX580 video card with the GTX 590 dual gpu on single card with this motherboard and powersupply or would it just be better to just get the premium single card out there next november/december? |

Everyone will tell you to absolutely stay away from the GTX590 and all dual-gpu cards as they are no good..

so would be best to just upgrade the gtx580 with the generation 6 equivelent thats out next winter? i heard that the 7th generation GPU's will all be an enhanced version of PCIE will that mean that the 6 generation that was recently announced the last generation ill be able upgrade to on the ASUS P8Z68-V LE ? btw from various web sited im not understanding what the new enhance pcie slot does/means expecially with such conflicting things ive read. ... or should this not be a concern with in my 3-4 year lifespan of the ODE level 2?

yea if you are talking about upgrading next november, which is almost a year from now, the GTX5xx series cards will be very old..might just want to stick to a gtx570 for now and then upgrade to the 600 series cards next year.. what are you looking to do with the computer? whats your resolution of your monitor? As for the answers to your more technical questions about the mother boards and PCIE, DST4ME would be the guy to comment on those..

mostly playing MMO's and action RPG's like mass effect 2(3 when it comes out) and the newest Deus Ex at fairly high graphical settings (most shadows and water effects most lighting and texture effects) basicly id like to be in the top 80% of all the available settings in those type of games. on my 24 inch dell st 2410 moniter at 1920x1080@60hz i never plan on using dual monitors for anything ive found that alt tabing to another window working fine for me. yeah Dst4me suggested the gtx570 a few weeks back and i think its a good idea but what the ODE2 has is the SSD & HD combo and i cant seem to get a better price for that even with the 570 (i could be missing something somewhere)
Btw i know the SSD doesnt help with frame per second in my games im wanting it for load up speeds and for my wife photo/video editing Edited by covfam - 16 Dec 2011 at 12:17pm |

SSD does help in games, not fps but in other ways.
you got a better cooler in ode 1, ode 2's cooler is much inferior. get ode 1 and add a ssd to it you will save about $200, and you can add the intel 320 or crucial c300/m4 instead that have a better track record. |
