It's all good DST4ME I went ahead and pulled the trigger on this earlier this eavning. I am happy with my choices, I think I just posted this because I was nervous lol. The way it worked out for my build the Maximus board only cost me $35 more than the Deluxe so I went with it.
Now I just have to sit back and wait

Depending on your use I would change a lot of things in there to be honest. you can save about $500 by going p67 and you will have the same game performance, but even in x79 I would change parts based on your needs.

Hi Dynamus
It's not too late to change. DS sees it all the time. Just call them now and put things on hold until you and DST work it out. That's what's great about custom building ![]() Good luck

Alright since it has been 6 days since I ordered and I am still stage 1 I will restart thos thread.
Besides my case (not getting in that discussion lol) what would you change on this DST4ME? I bought the Dell 23 you recomended and I will be gaming mostly on this rig. I am going to to SLI as soon as the prices drop and I am adding 3 really nice fans to the case. I am extreamly happy I waited and the X79 came out :) I know I jumped the gun and bought without disscusion but I think I made a pretty good rig keeping in mind my future upgrades. Looking forward to hearing from you bud. |

As I mentioned for dual sli I would go with p67 and 2600k, so are you looking for me to show you that or change what you have in your config? your own config I would go this: Ticket Number: 620340, but in all honestly for dual sli I would save a ton and get the same gaming performance by going to p67/2600k.

I just looked at your build and with the special that is going on right now it came to $2820 after shipping and my build is $2926 which is a difference of $106.
That is why I went with the upgraded mobo and the 580. Once the 600 series gpu's drop the prices of the 580's and I get to SLI I will have a rock solid build for several more years correct? |

THere is no difference between sli 580 and 570, you would have to upgrade either in 2 years to keep the pc powerful in gaming so that you can max out settings.
You made a mistake, your build after discount is $2926, but you forgot to add the discount to my build, which makes my build cost $2755, for a different of about $200 and as I mentioned above you are paying that for no perfomrance difference, my mobo can do what your mobo can do and my 570 2.5GB will do better in aa settings in higher res. in short your config just cost more but can't do more then mine, we dont recommend the 580 not just because of price but mainly because its difference where it counts is like 4 or 6 fps better then the 570, which is nothing, specially when you are getting what you need to begin with. and again for a dual sli setup, I can give you the same performance as my config or yours for about $500 less on p67. So your saying forget SLI 580 and go SLI 570 2.5g versions?
I rechecked the final prices in buy it now section and with shipping it really is $106 difference. Although I think the difference in price from the 580 to 570 will wash with the difference in promotional pricing. Man you are full of information. Heck I might just tell DS to sli the 570's right now. |

Oh ok, well I can tell you that sli 580 is a waste of your money for that res, sli 570 will give you the same performance, tho you don't really need the 2.5GB version, I have a feeling you will go with the 2.5GB version anyways, but thats ok, no big deal, its a small raise in price anyways, so ya go sli 570 instead for sure, save the money for sli upgrade in 2 or 3 years so that the pc will feel brand new in gaming.

I just sent an email to Craig. He helped me a couple of months back when I first started this process and was awesome. I am sure he will get back to me soon and let me know what can be done. Rig is still in stage 1 after 7 days so I am sure I have plenty of time to make any changes. Ill keep you up to date!

Ok so I was informed yesterday why after 9 days my order was still stage 1. It seems that ASUS has not shipped the rampage boards yet. So I completely changed my build up today to get things rolling.

So guess what? I get a call last night and they tell me there is now another problem with my build. The psu that I chose will not fit in the Raven 3 case so I either have to switch to another case or switch psu! Arrrrg why is this happening to me! Months of configurations and adjustments and now I have to change everything up twice in the same week.
I decided I am not going to change the psu since it is so highly recomended but the only other case I like is going to cost me another $150 bucks or so! I swear I am having the worst luck on this build

I'm sure it's been recommended, but the haf 942 x is a great looking case with tons of space and airflow.

That is the exact case I would not touch with a 10 foot pole but it looks like I may be forced into. Looks are a personal choice and I feel that case looks like a bunch of spare Lego's superglued together.

What about the CM 690 II advanced? It's a mid tower like the Raven but it does not have the funky design with the motherboard turned on it's side so you should not have issues with the PSU size like you do with the Raven 3.
690 II Advanced For being only a mid-tower it has a ton of cooling options. It comes with 3 fans stock and can have another 8 optional fans added on to it. |

690 II Advanced is good but I would go with haf x before I go with that.
with all due respect I I would not touch Raven with a 10 foot pole cause off all this bs issues and as far as I'm concerned the dumbest idea of design I have ever seen, to say that its setup is good cause of the angle of the mobo is hilarious to me, cause hot air rises no matter where you go, and if you have fans on top sucking the hot air up and out, you get better temps than that mobo design and lets not forget the cramp design it has. at the end the haf x will have more room, and better airflow and temps for less. If you ask me you got lucky, but I understand personal preference. |

I am just kind of getting tired of having to rebuild my build. I changed all kinds of stuff from the red options to the blue ones and now if I cave in on HAF it will have to go back to red. /sigh

There is a blue haf x ask them to use that, haf x blue
and ask them to add the blue 200mm led fan to optional top, all other fans are already blue with it. haf 200mm blue led fan if you want it to look really cool, ask them to paint the grills white, it goes great with blue
