Well, I have two. An Intel and a Ryzen, both in a Lumos case for a change of pace. If not for gaming, we don't have to have a top CPU, nor a top GPU, but we don't want to skimp out on quality parts that will be more trouble-free for longer.
3360746 Is the Intel at $2113 after the discount. 3360747 Is the AMD at $2007 after discount. I wanted a stronger than base mobo in each and a better PSU. 16 GB of RAM will do 'er. A light strip (free) for a little customizable bling if/whenever wanted, but left off the fancy fans. A strong, but not over-the-top GPU in the 1660 Ti for either should be a strong performer for a very long time. They both feature SSD only storage. You want an NVMe for OS, apps and maintenance programs. Another 1TB SATA SSD will provide other fast storage for a long time. I picked the tried and true Samsung for the Intel build, but went with the Seagate Firecuda in the AMD because it's a gen4 PCIe part and gets optimized in an AMD board. Either of these should be strong surfer/all around system for a long time, IMHO. Remember you must spend more than $2000 to get the first level $200 discount. Hope it helps! |

Hey oldlady RPGer, good to see you again!
I was going to chime in with "What resolution" but you marked down that it's not really for gaming so I got nothing.... Just thought I'd wave and ask if you got my adoption papers yet? |
