Hey, I've had this old dell around the house for a while now. I have an awesome DS desktop right now, but I still have the laptop around when i seriously need to go mobile. Problem is, it deleted its own LAN. Yeah, you read that right, I can't see LAN on network connections now. Wireless and Wired are both non-existent. I'm still able to connect via wireless using the wireless app that came with the system, interestingly. Anyways, I cannot connect with ethernet. The ethernet lights still blink to notify of a working connection, but the computer doesn't seem to know that. I have internal NIC enabled via the BIOS, also.
This all just abruptly happened one day. Any suggestions to bring my LAN back? |

Does it happen when wireless? Or do you have hardwire connection to modem/ desktop?
Is it happening at home or everywhere? Have you checked your router? NOTHING lasts forever.
I'm about to set up a LAN on my three computers(laptop1, laptop2, desktop) and will watch this thread with GREAT interest. If you figure it out, please post.
Thanks.....JPT

I think you have lost the drivers for the ethernet. Try re-downloading the drivers for your laptop from the dell website. That should fix the issue
