Getting a new PC soon and I am torn on whether I should get a soundcard or stick with onboard audio..I would probably be getting the 790i mobo.
If I got the card it would be the Razer Barracuda...
I will not be using a 5.1 setup, I will have a 2.1 setup and will use headphones alot as well....
Any help would be great.
Thanks!

Well for headphones razer is great.
but if you want surround while playing games, razer can't give it to you, it only supports eax upto 2.0. the 790i comes with a 7.1 audio. so if you want surround in games go with creative. if sound is not that big of a deal, go with integrated. if its just headphones and you do care about sound, some, then get the razer. I'm no expert, but that is my opinion from what I understand. have a good read here Edited by DST4ME - 13 Oct 2008 at 9:48pm |
