this system will really only be used to play one game, an mmo called lineage 2.  the game itself does not use that many system resources however i will be running up to 9 clients of the game at one time for 10+ hour sessions.  in the passed when doing this on other machines within 3 hours or so the page file memory gets totally maxed out and makes the machine lag rediculously until you restart the clients.

ive been toying around with a lot of builds on here and had some specific questions about some hardware.
1. chasis model...any benefit from one to the other or is the chasis only for looks ?
2.  1 video card versus 2 ? for what im going to be using this for will i see any benefit from getting 1 or 2 ?
3.  1gb video card vs 2gb video card?  big difference ?

any feedback, thoughts. opinions, inquries are welcome.

thank you for your time  :)

give me your ticket number and tell me what resolution you gonna be playing at.

1. there are benefits, one from the other.

2. depends on your resolution

3. the core is more important then the ram.

I would stick to 6gigs of ram, having 12gb could possibly make your system unstable.

Yes I got so wrapped up in the config I forgot to mention to you that you should disable pagefile, what is your OS?

how much ram does your system currently have?

also with ram you need to remember

size = multitask

speed = speed

so 1800MHz if faster then 1600MHz but 12GB can handle more multitasking, however currently you are not going to use more then 6GB now matter what you got running, so the other 6GB would be pure waste, and by waste I mean if we came and took out 6GB of that 12GB you would never notice unless you looked inside and saw them missing.

You might also want a sound card to take some load off the mobo and to improve the sound quality

this could hurt your OC, we discussed how 12GB is more hurt then it is help right? why put more stress on the memory controller when there is zero performance gain and it can actually bring down your OC speed, which is the biggest part of any body's PC. You sure you want to go with 12?

i decided to go with the 12 when you mentioned the multi tasking because that is precisely what i will be doing.  i will be playing 10 accounts simultaneously, meaning i have to open 10 clients of the game which i would imagine take a large amount of resources.  i can control all 10 of the accounts with a program.  and on top of that id still like to be able to minimize those 10 clients and still be able to mess around with watching movies, browsing net, and maybe even playing another game.

let me know if you still think its a bad idea .. ?

bad idea, IMO, PC speed is always more important then anything else.

you can always add more ram if you need it but I doubt if you will.

is speed the only negative or is there a greater chance of having hardware issues later on?  i can live without an OC, my last pc had a qx9770 at 3.2 no OC and and 4gb ddr3 1333mhz and it was extremely fast however i had issues with doing all of the multi tasking i wanted to like i was talking about in my previous post.  i did not want to have that issue again.

again the most important thing, number one on the list, with a PC is its speed.

you can have 36GB of ram with a 3.0GHZ and me with 6GB of ram and a 3.8GHz, I will finish my multitasking before you ever do, you maybe able to do more, but you will be doing it much slower then me.

as I said you can always add more ram, not sure what the rush is.

10 instances??? holy hell, what will you be playing if you dont mind me asking. I have trouble controlling one let alone 10 of something. Other than that NICEEEE PC!! And welcome to the boards. Ouch

you are starting to get me convinced on changing to the 6 :(

at first i was def going to go for the 6 because you were not offering the 12 @ 1866mhz but now you are.
i just see the 12 there and i am drawn towards it because its the most expensive and i usually associate price with quality,  you should remove it from the configs if you dont support it^

ill sleep on it but im prob going to end up staying with it

price and quality don't always go together when you introduce excess to it.

you are going to get 3 x 2GB or ram now, if you see you need more you just get 3 more sticks and put it in there, if you don't know how I can show you.

its so easy I can show a 12 year old how to do it in 2 minutes, and I mean in 2 minutes you are done
