Solid State or no? 64 enough?
750 power enough here? (HP w2207 monitor- 22" 1680 X 1050) is the temperature / fan display important? overclocking important? I would like to cut $200 but will pay this at $2700 if all is important or more if it is needed. Specifications: |

whats your budget?
whats your resolution? what is your use? 1 why would u go for 2x 275 they are obsolete 2 psu always go corsair if availible unless u need larger then 1k watts 3 drop the upgrade fans they are too loud and for a mild temp drop it isn't worth it 4 drop the fan management system 5 that ssd is way too small go for 120gb+ 80gb absolute min 6 drop the os tweak it really doesn't make much of a difference and if u need something re-enabled u gotta know what to do or get ds to walk you threw it. 7 do u really need the card reader? 8 go for the ds ram u wont notice the difference. atm i believe it is kingston once we have the info i asked for we can tell you which gpu u need. everythign else looks good so far. we may need to change the cooler depending on the gpu needed and how many u need |

sorry i didn't see your res....
it is enough.. for either the gtx 470 or 5850 thast what u should get for your gpu as long as you don't upgrade your monitor ur fien with that... if u do 1920 x 1200 5870 or 480 the oc is very important but for most people needs the stage 1 is more then adequate. it is a cheap way of maxing the hp of ur computer if cost is a issue right now get a 1tb hdd then upgrade to a ssd later. u can clone the hdd to the ssd and then whipe the hdd clean and use it for storage. you get free labor on upgrades for life of the pc... just cover parts and shipping. so if something is out of reach now don't worry. lets focus on getting the best bang for the buck for now Edited by Raif - 08 May 2010 at 5:56pm |

1. drop 930 to 920 if u can it is the same chip just at a higher factory clock. you wont notice the difference with the oc so why spend the money.
2. drop the corsair ram go back to the ds. it is made by kingston and you wont notice the difference so why spend the money. also the corsair ram is a little temperamental 3. change psu to corsair... it has a better warranty, better quality, more reliable and more quiet 4. if u are going to use the card reader ok, but if not no point in it. worse comes to worst u can buy a usb plug in reader for cheaper. 5 at that res all u need is a gtx 470... 480 is overkill you wont notice the difference save that money and use it for something u can see a benefit from 6 unless ur room temperature is high, and with only 1 gpu you can go to the stage 1 noctua cooler. it is all you really need everything else looks great. if you have the space switch the case to a haf 932 for better airflow and upgrade ability. the only way you will need another gpu is if u change monitors. if you plan on getting a bigger res monitor then keep the 480. if you don't get a bigger res monitor by the time you need 2 of those cards there will be something much better then that out that u can replace it with. at ds u get free labor on upgrades for the life of the system. to run 2x 480 you need a 1200 watt psu... i don't see the point in going sli for your needs. by the time you need two of them there will be a single card that that will be better then 2x 480 so no need to waste the money. if you choose the options i recommend you will have the most powerful computer u can for the budget. also with out any unnecessary money spent. in about a year or so ssd prices will drop. then would be a good time to get the ssd i would use the money saved to buy a ssd down the road or put it to a great ips panel monitior. a ips panel has identical height/ vertical viewing angles no less then 170 degrees. ips costs more but the picture quality is worth the money this computer has room to grow and expand: mobo: it has three pci-e lanes and it can do two 16x or three 16x, 8x, 8x psu: slightly more then u need now, but when u upgrade video cards down the road... it will be future proof cpu: it will be great for years to come and a avg life span with the oc at 7 years case: if u choose the haf 932, then you will be able to fit pretty much any new part that comes in. mid size cases don't have as good of airflow and are more concrete when looking to upgrade. upgrading a cheap way of keeping your system current. instead of buying a whole new one every few years... just buy what u may need which could be a new gpu or much later down the line cpu/mobo/ram. in the long run upgrading costs less. my pleasure to be of service, if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask... we love questions Edited by Raif - 08 May 2010 at 10:48pm |

Hey, hey, hey, Raif! The Sniper is NO kind of mid-size case!?! It's almost 22" tall for pete's sake. 10 inches wide?? It's way bigger than I thought, and it throws air around as good as the HAF (or nearly). I like the HAF, too, but let's not bash my beloved Sniper!
@Cavendish- You're gonna love your system, Man!

the sniper is a midtower but its size is like the 932, however the 932 has bigger fans thus better airflow by a bit, but both are good cases.
