Hello,
I currently have two systems configured (Bolt x & Lumos) and would like some opinions on which build I should purchase. I will be using the systems for gaming only, and am trying to keep within my budget of 5k. Also side note, I don’t want the Aventum x as it’s too big for the space I have designated for a gaming pc. Monitor: Alienware AW2518H - 240hz Both of these builds I would take, I just have a some things I would like opinions on. Which is the better performing one? Which one will cool better? Which one is more future proof (not having to upgrade soon) ? Which one do you feel has more value as far as upgrading in the future. Sorry for the bunch of questions, but some clarification would be nice! 👍 Bolt - 2612835 Lumos - 2619006 I’m aware of the potential of having leaks with copper / hardline tubing during the shipping process. But copper has been used for over 100 years and it is by far superior in distributing heat. I’ll say a prayer and take my chances during the shipping process. Sure. The monitor would not be very challenging to drive well.
Hands down the better cooler and easier to upgrade system would be the Lumos build. Bolt X works great for folks who need or want small form factor, but there is no comparison when comparing the Bolt X and a Lumos. All components in a roomy Lumos ( Corsair Crystal 570X case) ATX mid tower case will greatly benefit from better airflow and more case fans keeping everything cool. In Lumos you are able to use a stronger HydroLux Pro full size cooler with large coolant reservoir to obtain much lower CPU and GPU temps for better performance and more stable Overclocks. Full sized ATX motherboards are full featured with all the expansion options present...while the mini ATX size mobo required in the small form factor Bolt will have fewer SATA ports, USB ports, fan ports and PCIE slots. FYI...similarly...there would also be no comparison between a Lumos and an Aventum build. Aventum is the best liquid cool everything case on the planet and could produce far better cooling..thus far better performance and higher freq more stable Overclocks yet. You are very fortunate to have a budget that could consider either. If you want the best possible performance, expand ability and future proofing....Lumos is an excellent choice, and Aventum would be the very best possible. Lol copper tubing is great, but not necessarily in a computer...as any hardline tubing is not at all forgiving when it’s time to do something with components or mobo...it doesn’t flex or move to get out of the way...lol. Also not as easy to repair or replace yourself. Looks very cool and should do a great job for you for many years ahead.. Edited by HockeyBuck - 09 Oct 2019 at 12:21pm |
