Budget:
around 2k Expectations: springboard system. something that will last me a couple years without being a liability in the process. high-max settings on popular titles with smooth frames around 50+ depending on system draw of certain games. this system as is should be able to kill that for now. Usage: mostly gaming, software modification, mild photoshop use, etc. gaming on single 1080p monitor. other monitors used for multitasking purposes. shouldn't have any needs for a cpu with ht. Hi JayKthnx.... Welcome to the forums.
Nice build. Quality parts. I would suggest going with at least stage 1 overclock. The H100i is made for oc'd processors and oc is an inexpensive boost in performance. Talking coolers.... I recommend the Noctua D14 air cooler for its quiet and reliable performance. The H100 cools just fine and can be made as quiet by adjusting fans in Corsair Link, but the Noctua is great as -is. They both work so your call as always. Looks good.

Probably either going to get l2 oc or oc it myself depending on how much extra frills I feel like getting. As for the cooler, I was considering the noctua as an interim cooler until I start building a custom loop, but the h100i is only $20 more, plus I have interest in tearing it down at some point for the sake of curiosity/modification.
Still on the fence about it though. Either way, your input is much appreciated, as is any from anyone else.

I would go noctua, get stage 1 oc at least so that the pc is under warranty with oc.
