Having heard many a horror story about PCs being damaged during shipment, I was wondering how many of you will or have elected to forego the free ground shipment and instead choose air shipment (which is $160, I believe)? I will be paying a lot of money for my PC and I am worried about it being damaged during shipment. So, is it worth spending an extra $160 to have your PC shipped by air? Thanks. P.S. The PC will be shipped to the Capital of the World (aka P.P.S DSO, what is your experience with this? How often do you get complaints from customers about damaged PCs and how do you deal with these complaints?
Thanks and TGIF!

since i have had great experience in three day air travel...i dont recommend it.....the pkg is left to sit around until the commitment is ready to be met...maybe left to fall into the wrong hands..or mishandled ...nothing but next day for me..i dont care how much extra it is..

I used 3 day air on my PC and it was 176 dollars via UPS. It was shipped to Manhattan as well and the box was in perfect condition. Additionally, the PC showed up a day early! I think its worth the extra cost- although now that DS is using FedEx, ground may be okay.

All I can say is that the first two deliveries by UPS (RMA's) there was some sort of issue. The third RMA was a total disaster (broken foot, smashed plexiglass, hanging parts), box ripped open....again UPS
Last shipment thru FEDEX...not a scratch on the box and the puter was in perfect condition!

My original rig was three day air and showed up at my door from DHL and it was in perfet condition.
I had to RMA it and upon return it came overnight air from UPS. The box was in very bad shape, crushed in on one corner and it was all wet and stained.
So, I think overnight is worth it, but UPS seems to be a hit and miss. I really think the less time it spends in hubs and on trucks bouncing around, the better.

Mine came fed ex. No major problems. Just the AC cooler 7 fan popped off..but it was just a snap on fan anyways. No major box damage minus the usual scuffs and stuff youd get with any package shipping.
