Evening all,

Just wonder how long the usual order takes to have the customer service page update from stage 1 to 2. Mine seems to have been on stage 1 for a week now Cry

Thanks

it usually depends on the complexity of the order... or sometimes we will receive a bad shipment of hardware and we'll have to wait for more to come in.  if you want to find out more details about your order you can either call us up or post your order number and when we get a free minute we can look it up for you and post the results.

They finished mine in record time. I ordered on a Monday and it shipped on a Friday of the same week! I guess I had a simple config that was easy to put together. It should show up here by the 15th! I can't wait. Clap

Hello there, thanks for the reply. Order # 4926.

I don't think mine was to complicated. Really a bare bone PC. :)
Looks like I started an avalanche.

Thanks

Mine was started and out the door in about 11 days.  Great time for building and testing a GAMING machine.  This included me changing my mind on processors and several emails and calls to get me what I wanted.  Don't forget that they test extensively and if it is not up to DS standards then they fix it and test again.

Yeah, I ordered a triple boot system and DS ran their 72 hour stress test on each OS.  I didn't realize that that was what was holding my system up, but Alex made a great reply to my partial review on ResellerRatings.com.  You can check out my config there.

Speaking of ResellerRatings.com, be sure to leave your reviews, guys!  DS deserves them!  The good ones, that is.  :P

My order was processed on August 1st and went into stage 2 the same day. It was shipped on the 10th and is supposed to arrive here (South Carolina) on the 16th.
In case of doubt, make it sound convincing.

Crulend is right on about resellerrating.com.  Give DS the kudos that they deserve.  More people need to know about DS, service like that is hard to find so lets make it easier for people to find them.

My wife just called and UPS just dropped it off.  She says that the box looks to be in good shape.  Now I just have to wait until 1700 hours to open it and set it up.

Well i got it!

came yesterday evening, just as I got in from work.
I am very impressed. The insides were very clean. thats a wopper of a cooling system on the CPU.
I must say Vista64 surprised me. With 1gig of ram it booted much faster then my old PC with Vista32 and 2gigs. Even the wife said it seemed much more responsive. Didn't get to do much but change the resolution and the latest windows updates.
Tonight I go to town on it. :)

Well all was going well till I bought and installed 4gigs. :(
From swapping in and out the memory sticks I have found that the 3rd slot on the MB seems to be bad.
Have emailed tech support, we shall see what has to be done on monday.
I was really hoping one of the memory sticks was bad.

On another note. Vist64 rocks! It was fast on 1 gig and on 4gig it just files along. So far Sw tested and works;
Office2007,
Civ4,
Bioshock the Demo,
RollerCoaster Tycoon 2,
WallpaperMaster

I am really hope tech support can show me something I am doing wrong with the slots :(

Hello all,

Me again with a update. First Let me thank Kelly. His the man. :)
My Pc came, as you all know, it was perfect. :) Then I went and bought 4 gigs for it. Put them in and :( found out the 3rd slot on the Motherbrd was bad.

Contact DS and they sent out a new one for me to install. I didn't want to ship the whole PC back as I had added in my own HW by this time. 4 HDDs, DVD writer and a card read.

They first said it would be coming UPS ground. Fair enough their paying for it. Got home to hear a msg on the answer machine that said they were going to send it UPS air mail. Great! Got it a day or two later.

Well last night I went and installed it. Out come the HDs. Then disconnect all the cables. Then.....Ahh how's this bloody Heat sink come off.
First call to Kelly. He described how to take it off perfectly. It is a BIG hunk of metal that thing.

Switch the CPU, no problem. Put the Heat sink back on.... Hmmm how's this thing go back on. See the holes for it but something isn't working here. 2nd Call to Kelly. Ahh! that little plastic thing ain't suppose to go on. Thing snaps in and I get the twisty screws to co-opperate :)

Right now, new MB is in and screwed down. CUP and Heatsink in place.
Memory sticks in, good. Video card, yep. HDDs and all those lovely cables.
Lets power her up! Nothing.....:( Try it again..Nothing
No beeps! no video. Oh hell. Pannick time!
3rd call to Kelly! 4 minutes to closing. We go thru it again. Looks bad! might be a damage brd. We try once more to remove the memory and video card. Then place them back in, video then 1 stick.
Hey presto Video comes up and PC has 1 gig.! Yipee!!!
Then each of the other ones is tried and works each time.

Kelly stayed on the phone with me as I tried them. Must be after closing time now. On a friday before labour day weekend. Again thanks!

So now I have her fully loaded and shes still running.
My thoughts on DS:
Buying process: excellent
Shipping & packaging: excellent
Out of box setup: excellent.
Has got to be the cleanest OS install of a PC I have ever seen from a company. Just the OS no other crap. And the wring was great all nice and neat. Plenty of air flow in it.
Service & support: Excellent. The service they gave me other companies would have been charging a maintenance fee for. Can't say enough for it.
Keep it up guys.

PS. The only downside in all this was the following;
I got a email saying the new MB was shipped UPS and heres the tracking #. Could not get UPS site to accept the tracking number at all. Turns out it was shipped DHL. No biggy that. Still came in 2 days.
Note to DS!: Shipping the MB in the original Mfr box is a bit risky. The box was damaged a bit, one corner was beat up and thorn. Looked like it had been thrown around a bit.

Thanks again to Kelly and DS.
Now for the Crysis demo on the 25th!
By the way Bioshock on this PC rocked! And 64bit Vista rocks!

You guys are more than welcome!  That's what our company is all about.  Making sure everyone his happy.

Now, Tirnaog, I am still hesitant to game on 64bit os.  Let me know how it is with everything from games to everyday stuff.  It's been my experience that a 64bit os is only really good for server applications?

Now, I am curious about Bioshock...  should I spend the money and buy it or pay rent?  :-P

If you're into shooters this looks great. Different from the military types out there. Its got a kind of "Sky Captain" feel to it. Like an old detective film with a bit of Chutulu, Lovecraftian type. Is that making any sense to anyone?
The music also fits the game to a t.

The mouse was extremely sensitive. Other than that it seemed very interesting.

Will keep ya updated on the day to day 64bit use. Its quite different from the XP64bit. That sure was for more of a server workload as far as I can see. The Vista is definately ready as far as I can see atm.

Today I tested;
Money 2007: Worked fine
Warhammer Mark of Chaos: Ran great. little slow but this game was a dog on Vista32 and that was with the stuff turned down just to play it.
SimCity4: No problems here either.

In the games cases all options were turn up to highest level.

Let us know some updates on your games running Vista 64bit.  I went with Vista 32 bit for fear of incompatibility issues.  As soon as I get my new machine, will give updates on my game play and any issues with Vista 32 bit.  My old one Xp pro that I built fried a couple months ago so having serious game withdrawal issues going on!  LOL
Had no problems with it and the games I played.

Excuse me for being a newbie, but at about what time should we check the UPS website or call you for a possible exact shipping date?

I will have to take time off of work to be at my residence for the shipment.

thx

Once the computer ships from our facility, you will receive a email with a tracking number. It takes UPS a few hours to update their systems with the tracking number information. Afterwards, you can track the package anytime, 24/7. It will also show you the exact estimated delivery date.
