Welcome to DS. The configurator gurus will chime in and give you better advise but I can tell you that you have listed in Storage Set 1 an M.2 but that is just the form factor, the interface is still SATA. You want one of the NVMe storage devices which interface through PCIe and way faster. You also chose the 3080 gpu and they will want to know the resolution you will be playing in. that is one strong card. Enjoy.

Hey, Thanks - ah interesting I just assumed SSD was the fastest. I'll have to call them to adjust. I plan to play games like Cyberpunk 2077 on 4k as maxed out as I can get it. Thanks!

Definitely want an NVMe drive for your primary. Either Samsung or Seagate will do, the differences are slight. If you get a 1TB one, be sure to partition your OS, browser and maintenance software so you can boot faster, scan faster, and isolate most of your installed apps away from the Windows drive in case you ever have to do a complete fresh install. If that happens, you have to wipe the Win drive and start over, so the fewer apps you have on it, the better.
I would get the Asus TUF mobo just because it's not much money, but a slightly stronger board. Not a must-have. The dual fan cooler, is likewise an upgrade you might want in order to keep the CPU as cool as you can. That's always a good idea, and may extend the CPU's life a bit. |

I essentially did my build like yours as well. I went with the z490 p and the 10850 chip.
I hope the future chip iterations will use the z490p mother board but who knows.? I do make sure the MB was SLI compatible in case that become a future need, although I’m told it really doesn’t add much. I did make sure to have at least three PCI express lanes incase they ever decide to begin specializing GPUs further into various categories - the VR GPU, the RTS GPU, the home theater 5k GPU, the AI GPU. I just don’t know what they are gonna do in the next 10 years and I like to think my computer will be useable for at least that long. I bought my first DS computer in 2006 and I didn’t need to do a thing except upgrade to some SSDs until this year. Hence why am buying a new computer. And The only reason why I’m getting a new rig now is because my graphics card blew up.. |

Boy, are you in for a shock. Try to imagine the advances going from 100s of millions of transistors to multiple BILLIONS on both CPUs and GPUs over the years. Basically, almost everything happens instantly.
